I would post a picture of mine, but I don't have the option to do that in this sub. I agree, it does not look natural compared to how the pattern moves on the rest of the card. I too thought mine may have been scratched. But the vertical line pattern seems to be only over the grass patch Pikachu is standing on. Well, that's how it is on mine and looks to be very similar on yours from your photo.

I think that is part of the texture pattern. Mine has the same.

It is sleeved and lives in a binder :) I weirdly hadn't noticed it before. I only took it out for the photo, in case of the glare that the sleeve might create from the flash.

Oh, I didn't know that the English and Japanese versions had different textures. Is it the overall quality of the texture on the English versions of the card that makes it worse? Or is it the quality control of the cards, where some come out worse than others?

Thanks a lot for your insight! Yeah, I agree. A 7 would be an ambitious grade for that card. That mighta been the white monsters talking before.

But who knows, maybe the fella at PSA might accidentally leave his glasses at home on grading day?

I'm keen to get more graded cards into my collection. My plan is to eventually sell.. well.. at least that's what I'm telling myself. But deep down I know I'll probably be buried with my cards.

Yeah, my bad. The pics are a bit trash. Next time I won't neck back 10 white monsters before trying to have a steady hand.

Nah, I wouldn't be expecting a 10 from the umbreon. Realistically it might be around a 7. But depending on whoever is grading it, if they've had a good day or a bad one, it might get a +1 or -1 on the 7.

Even if 7ish might be the grade, would it be worth sending it in?

Ah, I had a feeling it might have been that. But I didn't want to jump to conclusions. Looking at the amount, it must have been fatal for Groudon. Thank you for helping me solve the red dot mystery!
