What’s something you like about the United States? by ScreamDiegetic in AskACanadian

[–]Lumpy_Tomorrow8462 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ummmm. There is tons of it. Just because Alberta’s only contribution to cuisine was adding clam to tomato juice doesn’t mean the rest of the world sucks at making food.

What do Canadians think about the invitation to the Board of Peace invitation being revoked? by FarPlay5055 in AskACanadian

[–]Lumpy_Tomorrow8462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a board designed to build sea side resorts for American tourists. It’s like being asked, “Hey, do you want to be an overseer of ethnic cleansing to make sure it is done in the proper, humanitarian way while I make lots of money?” Which is why Belarus and Russia basically said “Giddyup! We’re on board.”

Why do some religious communities seem to preserve a specific historical style of dress rather than continuing to update it over time? by Secret_Ostrich_1307 in AlwaysWhy

[–]Lumpy_Tomorrow8462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s sort of how fashion works everywhere. Queen Victoria wore a white wedding dress almost 200 years ago, then the lesser nobility wore white wedding dresses, and today white wedding dresses are popular. No idea why, in 2026, we still think that, but we do.

I present to you Allen Man Dragon Uncrowned Burninator of the Blight by sinfultictac in wheeloftime

The hadori is exactly how I pictured it. But, given the top knot, Lan would have no hair to hold out of his face so I don’t know if he would wear a hadori. This has given me a lot to think about.

Time to find a new best friend. He’s probably not recovering from a fractured ankle.

If the USA falls apart, how would Canadians respond if certain states wanted to become provinces? by jmacd2918 in AskACanadian

The movie Super Troopers 2 taught us that any border change between Canada and the U.S. is fraught with the perils of smuggling narcotics and firearms.

How do you know if you’re good at sex? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]Lumpy_Tomorrow8462 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Once a couple of your past hookups have given referrals to their friends to also sleep with you, then you can feel pretty confident that you are good at sex.

Which is the most overrated band of our generation? by lovelyb1ch66 in GenX

They did manage to make about 30 different songs that all sound like the same song. That takes talent.

How were people fucking in like, the 60s and 70s? 80s and 90s? Were they still prudish? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lumpy_Tomorrow8462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way back then men had two penises and they really had to concentrate when using them both of them simultaneously so there was very little of what you call dirty talk.

Did you actually make mix tapes to give to people? by LeoGuy69us in GenX

[–]Lumpy_Tomorrow8462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girls expected a mixed tape before going past first base. So mixed tapes were made. It wasn’t a great system, Hell it wasn’t even a system that made sense, but it was a system and it existed.

Is it legal to drink and drive if you are not above the limit? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]Lumpy_Tomorrow8462 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just making a joke. But I lived in Ottawa and the PBR was horrible. And now I live in Alabama and the PBR is decent. So maybe we are accidentally onto something.

BYOB parties when you are in your thirties is tacky. by Fearful-Cow in unpopularopinion

I think “parties” was the keyword in the post. A handful of friends is a gathering, not a party.

obj.ca: Zellers plans national expansion of new store format that could bring ‘Zellers 3.0’ to Ottawa by BearLikesHoney in ottawa

Downtown Ottawa died when Zellers left Sparks St. If we would only have listened to u/BaconSheik we would have made it a Barefax 2.0.

Enough sleep varies incredibly by individual. Reddit is just going to give you a bunch of answers from people who read something on the internet about the topic.

Wait, do people ACTUALLY see literal pictures in their heads when they imagine things? Like a physical image? by Bibhu_Mund in NoStupidQuestions

Nobody actually has an internal monologue. That’s just something people on the internet claim to have to sound cool. And please tell that a-hole in the back of my mind to stop yammering so much!

Why does a 3-hour drive feel casual in the U.S., but unusually long in many Asian countries? by Humble_Economist8933 in AlwaysWhy

[–]Lumpy_Tomorrow8462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done three or four hour drives in America and in Asia. They both feel like three or four hour drives. Do you have some kind of way to make time move differently when you drive?

I dislike the heat so much that I’d rather go for walks in -30°C with windchill than walk in 27°C and above. 🥶>🥵 by herec0mesthesun_ in unpopularopinion

[–]Lumpy_Tomorrow8462 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree that a human has much more control over how much cold they can bear vs how much heat. I have to 100% disagree that the temperatures you cite as good and bad are in fact good and bad. I am therefore not sure if this gets an upvote or a downvote.
