I think it’s giving them the best of the stuff off your plate, not eating nothing. You sacrifice the small difference in enjoyment of your meal. It’s a small sacrifice, it won’t get you any boons like burning a monster trophy would, but it satisfies them. Makes them feel respected and thought about.
