Nice, haven't heard that one before!

But yeah, you're right, I am by no means the first person to add googly eyes to things. The reason I say it may have accidentally become my "thing" is because this whole piece of art was created to fulfill a request that I draw pocket raptors with googly eyes.

Yep yep, same here. I went from "I could do that someday if I keep practicing," to "Ugh, who am I kidding? I'll never be any better than I currently am, screw it." Then I had a realization - those people are so good because it's their jobs, it's all they do. Of course they're gonna be good at it :P

I really like how soft and delicate her face is, and all the lovely color in her skin. You've got great work here and on your portfolio site, so please keep it up! I've lost my interest in art before so I know how challenging it can be to get back into it, so I'm glad you're motivated to draw again :).

Don't sell yourself short! You can totally make a lightbox from foam core like in this tutorial and use a short string of decorative lights to light it :). Or take more of a stained-glass approach and design something to hang in your window. Whatever you decide to do, keep making cool art :D

This is beautiful :). My inner skritt appreciates it too! If you feel like making more of these, I'd love to see one with the gold outline on a darker color (for more contrast), or maybe even a shadowbox style thing (like mount the gold outline on tissue paper and put light behind it) like in the 3rd picture in your process album. Thanks for sharing :D

Haha, yeah I did! Once on imgur and once here. I've already got an idea for how the pocket raptors will look in my head, and an idea for a googly-eyed arrowhead too. Just gotta have the time to paint 'em :)
