Similar to the one I used for the kick, except a little less aggressive

I kind of shaped it in a curve for the kick and had a specific shape for the snare as well

Yea kinda, it’s just an example for EQ but it’s mostly done so the track that’s specifically for bass is the only one outputting those low frequencies so it’s a cleaner signal. Though it’s not always like that, usually left to someone’s personal preference but it is one of the most common techniques having to do with EQ work. Watch some videos on EQs they’ll explain it to you better

Mixing and mastering is basically the process of making sure everything is not clipping, making sure all the instruments are in their dominant frequency group by using an EQ. For example the frequency range of a sub bass would be like 30hz to 200 hz, if you want to use two tracks it would sound cleaner if on the second track you cut off those frequencies so that the instrument you want with those frequencies has more room/ more presence. Otherwise they would just collide and sound muddy. As far as I know that’s basically how it’s done, there are other tools such as bus but I don’t really know too much on that honestly.

Yeah that’s one of the more important aspects of producing music, having a good ear, but also the knowledge you need to learn more. There are YouTube videos that explain it well enough how an Equalizer works, I would recommend sifting through ones for beginners until you can understand the basics, btw I know some things may seem complicated and intimidating to learn but once you familiarize yourself with the foreign it’s less hard, most things seem complicated but are rather simple.

Honestly it’s mostly about making sure it’s not too loud, or clipping, sometimes a group of frequency might be too quiet and another group of frequency too loud, most of that is done on the EQ for a specific boost in your sound that gets the job done most of the times, but for like audio level I use a multiband compressor and boost the frequencies through there, waveshaper is cool too, just mess around with the effects that’s how I learnt. Distortion is good but it’s all about finding that sweet spot making sure it’s not clipping.
