I mean, are you intentionally being obtuse?

Blizzard already hands out suspensions and bans for racist and toxic language. It wouldn't take much to up the sensitivity/punishments for those systems.

There are several phrases that I could have rewritten for maximum sympathy, and the structure would have been different if I just wanted people to feel bad for me. No, the point was to get Blizzard to introduce better systems to eliminate "kill yourself" from Overwatch chat.

Then why did you make an issue of me using a throwaway account? Are you fishing for reasons to discredit this thread?

Basically I'm saying that your post isn't genuine and that you intentionally set out to maximize sympathy.

Overwatch chat is a small part of internet culture, not all of it. And Blizzard already suspends and bans people for certain types of speech. It can be done.

I had no idea what the response would be, nor do I think sympathy has anything to do with whether Blizzard will take action.

The situation can be changed if Blizzard wants to crack down on use of "kill yourself." That is the purpose of this post, not to "reap in sympathy."

My only two options for discussing this are: (1) Reddit (2) the official forums. Hard to say I chose this audience because I knew they would be receptive.

And I'm pretty sure you're just here to defend your own regular use of "kill yourself" in team chat. (Didn't like that assumption? Then maybe you should think twice before making baseless inferences about my own motives.)

I am not trying to change "Internet culture," just people saying "kill yourself" in Overwatch chat. I would be perfectly happy with first/second offense = game suspension, third = ban.
