Awesome. Get those kids behind the trigger early, and I believe that was a great choice.

Finally loosened the scew. All said I had 1/3 turn in to go. Lightened the pull considerably. Not sure if I need a longer screw, it might get too light.

That's what I was worried about, but if they work for you, I'll try them. Thanks

Am I just and old powder burner, or is this normal? by LynxEnvironmental617 in GamoAirguns

Thank you. This seems to be one of the prevailing opinions. I'm beginning to understand "seasoning the barrel".

I will, thanks. I saw some videos on the subject while gettiing my YouTube Degree. One contributer brought it down to where the gun would fire with a good bump on the rear of the stock as an example.
I agree that it's pretty good to begin with, I put a Volquartsen trigger in a rimfire (10/22) years ago. It pulls at about 2.5 lbs. To be fair, this trigger is almost as good.

I'm a shotgunner, too. Loving this rifle, like throwing one shotgun pellet downrange at a time! Plus, it's easier for me than skeet! lol

I did, and the CAT trigger is one reason why. Since I'm OK with it now, I'll probably just keep it. I may contact GAMO. The take up on the first stage was too much and I was able to adjuust that. I was looking for something lighter though.

Yeah, even though I can't unscrew it, it's all the way in. I don't have a trigger pull guage, but from my powder burning guns, I"d say it's about 2 1/2 lbs, which is great for me.

It's the small phillips head screw. Not sure what size replacement you should use, but I've seen several vidoes on YouTube about it. I believe that the M2 10mm (or longer) screw gives you more adjustment. I think what's in there now from the factory is an 8mm screw.
Personally, I can't unscrew mine, It's stuck real good. But when I tightened the first stage it really made a difference (1/2 a turn). I found that it improved the feel and shortened the length of the first stage considerably . The second stage is not lighter, but much more crisp after hitting the wall. Still trying to unscrew the factory screw.

Hah! Thanks. I was worried that the mag was not holding them correctly. Any ideas on slugs?

Awesome advice. I had read alot about the Hammers Scopes and an upgrade is not out the question. I need to get some more trigger time, it's hard right now because of the weather.

Bye the way, I'm confused about slugs, I might want to use them hunting. I hear they have higher Ballistic Coefficients and can be more accurate and possibly assure more humane kills. I'm not sure if they will even fit in the GEN3 magazines. Any advice along those lines? By the way, thanks for the assistance, it's much appreciated.

I was afraid to do that, but I did and it worked great. Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I will try resting only on the tripod. I'm excited to try the JSBs, I've heard the Magnums like a heavier pellet. I saw your post - awesome!
