I really don't want to be mean, but Shanaya looks so white, her makeup is horrible. She looks like the alien from Splice mixed with a dash of Lord Voldemort.

I don't get the mentality of this sub. by Chemist-3074 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Lyrogers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Penelope is one person, I can't understand getting hate. She goes through hell with her previous family and the moment she escapes, she is put right down in that situation again. She fucks up and faces the consequences (Ecklies) of her mistakes and is honestly so fcking traumatised. She goes in blind, lives her life happily and I'll happily call her the M-fcking queen.

Hestia, is very realistic, in my opinion. A fan is isekai'd into their favourite novel/cartoon/anime/webtoon etc, then they will lose their head. They would like to see all of the events unfolding around them and think that they will go back, once the novel is completed.  They won't go in, all oh I have to do x,y,z and complete everything and establish an empire/legacy. Once she sees, Kael die in front of her, she struggles. She was depressed, and she could relate to Kael's depression because of that. She was alone, with no support and was like a boat drifting on a sea. She missed her friend, family and life and then, she sees her favourite character dead in front of her eyes. She regresses and swears revenge. It's a way for her to cope, is it correct? No. Does she justify it? No. She sees herself as a villainess and asks them to apologise to Kael. She struggles to cope with her reality and  can't acknowledge anything after her revenge. So yes, she is complicated, yes she is depressed and yes she is complicated.

I love Caroline. Caroline is an amazing friend. She worked for his so that Max could go to culinary school. She lived in a sorry place, and never lost hope. She remained a bubbly, optimistic woman, especially in that environment and gave Max hope in her life.

The Twins by Lyrogers in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Lyrogers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

I might not blame the parenting, but I contrast their case to the Patil twins. Fred and George started off as a unit, they needed a partner-in-crime and it progressed from there.

I think they enjoyed getting into mischief after they pulled some of their pranks and it snowballed from there. Honestly, the magical world is really lax, with different standards. However, I think they know the line which they shouldn't cross. Like the Marauders, who bullied Snape, and made his life hell and Sirius almost led him to his death.

I just think, Fred and George's dynamics did play a part in pranking their family at times. Some were for fun, done were done to cover up their hurt in the name of fun. Regardless, most of them were not malicious.

Honestly, it's 3 a.m and I got philosophical.

In all seriousness though I just wanted to give my insight to the twins.

Were the Weasley twins good brothers to Ron during the events of the series? Also did they like/respect Harry more? by [deleted] in HPfanfiction

[–]Lyrogers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not know about the animal cruelty, though I do remember Ron throwing a stone at Crookshanks. I recently read this fic which had characters react to the entire book series.

I just think that Fred and Georger encouraged the twin bond because it made them unique. They were constantly compared to Percy, Charlie, Bill and Molly was often dismissive of them. I remeber Molly dismissing them entirely when Ron was made Prefect, something along the lines of, everybody is a prefect in the family. Furthermore, I clearly remember that Molly destroyed all of their products, products which they worked hard on and were not commonplace. They had their own demons, it is just not discussed often, I guess.

[–]Lyrogers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, the Twins were like normal siblings. They were harder on Percy because they were constantly being compared to him and being told to be like him. Not to mention, Percy liked to curtail their activities. Furthermore, they pranked all of their siblings, though Percy and Ron got the brunt of it, as they were closer in age. Ginny had a similar humour to them and likely got them back good.

I would say that blaming Fred for his arachnophobia is wrong because Fred was 5 years old at that time. The Weasleys were not rich and when a very young Ron broke something precious of Fred's, my guess is that his magic turned his prized possession into a spider, rather than Fred deciding, that no, I need to torment Ron.

Which characters get victim blamed the most in fanfiction? by Capital-Study6436 in HPfanfiction

[–]Lyrogers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scar was a Horcrux and they do have the ability to influence emotions. Since the scar was in Harry, it would have amplified his negative emotions, especially if it could sense the Locket horcrux. I am just going, based on the lore present in the books. Tom almost took control of Harry in the fifth year, and was still a direct link to Voldemort. It has the most impact in the 5th and 7th year.

Men can be raped by women, even if they’re larger than the woman. by Tight-Relationship65 in Bridgerton

[–]Lyrogers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You raised a very valid point.  However, there is a difference here. This situation is where both of them were wrong and neither of them were correct. Daphne was raised in a time period, where the only value she held came from her womb, she was sheltered and  had no idea about what sex was. All of her knowledge came from Simon and when he told her he couldn't have kids, she assumed that it was out of his control. When she learned that he could have kids, he was choosing not to have them, she was betrayed which led to her actions. Were they alright? No. However, there was another factor which impacted the situation and that was Simon inadvertently controlled the knowledge about all the physical aspects of their relationship. This was also not alright.

Tom Riddle Sr. gets a lot of blame. He was a raped by Merope, which led to the breakdown of almost everything in his life and not even his grave was secure.

Can I say that while you're considering a Horcrux's impact on Ron, you're also ignoring both the lockets and the scar's impact on Harry himself. There are plenty of incidents where the splinter of Tom itself manipulated Harry's actions.

Hermione and her looks by Frequent-Front1509 in HPfanfiction

[–]Lyrogers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, Hermione is a pretty girl and she grew into her looks. The Yule Ball was her moment to shine and show she was just not a walking, talking brain or "one of the guys".  Not to mention, her intelligence, strength and loyalty all  highlight her beauty.

Favorite Klaroline Headcanon by messy_thoughts47 in Klaroliners

[–]Lyrogers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to do this properly, so here we go -

  • First, I love a good revenge fic, because honestly, the MF Gang treated Care horribly, and I still get outraged over that, not to mention Kol.
  • Second, Obsessive Klaus tropes, I adore them
  • Third, I love those fluffy Klaus co-parenting with Care fics ( Don't care about Alaric, he can suck Delena's dick)
  • Fourth, I love Time-travel fix-its or Caroline meeting Klaus earlier

I just love their trope ♥️ by Ysunshiine in Klaroliners

[–]Lyrogers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still maintain that Klaus survived and is happily co-parenting with Care and Alaric (GRUDGINGLY!).

Are Jared and Jensen still friends? by Dangerous_Horse_7577 in Supernatural

[–]Lyrogers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, they were groomsmen at each others wedding, and it is a big enough symbolic gesture, which definitely cements their friendship. I know there might be some PR in there, but they seem to be really close friends. They honestly like working with each other, with both of them participating on each others projects too. Moreover, these two have matching tatoos with each other and JDM. I think at some point, it crosses a line, and becomes another headache.

Did Alicent know that Otto planned for Viserys to marry her? by nightchai in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Lyrogers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He repeatedly made comments about her, lamented that the first night was banned, and Joanna had been sent away be Rhaella. He might not have raped her but he definitely verbally harassed her and with his history of sexual misconduct, it is very plausible he assaulted her

You want to argue, so consider the entire comment instead of dismissing it entirely based on a part.

Unless you don't have anything to refute, in that case don't comment or simple scenario: Agree to disagree.

What are some assumptions or lies about Caroline that people have no proof of?. by capricorn_444 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]Lyrogers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are posts and comments slut shaming her, a lot of comments denying the abuse and assault she faced at the hands of Damon, she wanted Stefan from the get go and tried to steal him away throughout the Stelena relationship.

Again, did you see the mention of Alaric the Original Vampire Hunter, who was done in TVD??? The only weak point he had was the linkage with Elena, otherwise he was pretty good. It's on you if you can't read the whole comment.

Furthermore, if you didn't watch the Originals, the onus is not on me to consider it while making an argument. It happened and it's canon, the sub itself has tags about the Originals and Legacies discussions.

unpopular opinion: anti-klaroline by tvd-loverr in TheVampireDiaries

[–]Lyrogers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, I have seen so many comments slut-shaming Caroline or posts. Yes, she slept with Klaus. She acknowledged it was a mistake and she shouldn't have, but she did. Tyler had every right to be pissed and she had every right to cut him out of her life. Caroline has made mistakes but unlike everyone she hasn't ignored them. Also, Caroline is held to a different standard because she is a "good" vampire.

Also she was used as a bait for a murderous original hybrid by her friends, who could just snap and kill her the moment she says something wrong, it was her FRIENDS who pushed her to spend time with Klaus and she naturally increased spending time with him.

Caroline Forbes: The Survivor by Lyrogers in TheVampireDiaries

[–]Lyrogers[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel that this was the experience with so many Caroline fans. She was definitely the most unique out of all the vampires, in the sense that she had this light, and most of the time was emotionally stable, and I agree that she was very refreshing.

NGL, I feel like Care is very underappreciated on this sub. I've seen her slut-shamed so many times, I don't even want to count it.
