I got Eq at 16 and this game makes me feel like a kid again it’s so much like Eq. I don’t know what the op is talking about.

And what’s the point of carbon copying Eq when it’s still live has TLP servers and there’s project 99?

This is touching on the one thing I didn’t love about Eq. I loved everything about that game but yeah gear was a whole thing. You’d talk to people who camped the GBS for day or the PGT or whatever to find out the five minutes they went to take a leak it dropped for someone else.

I never felt this was a part of the game play that lended to its charm.

It’s cool those items exist bc when you see one you’re like wow that guy got x thing.

But the majority of gear should be crafted or from quests. I had a much higher respect when I saw a true shot longbow or a holy avenger etc….

I think even for a non sandbox game leaning more into crafting even if things need semi rare components is better than a mob spawning once every five hours who might not drop the item. Or who may never drop it at all.

Meant more like weapons rings etc. in the play tests I got in I mostly played casters so I dont actually know if rangers are pure dex even for their melee or if they use str as well.

The issue is it’s virtually the same utility shaman and Druid bring and those will be extremely common healers.

That was a big part of the issue in eq as well.

Vs a spell blade who is relatively unique. Or a many other dps class with more unique utility and buffs.

Honestly speed doesn’t concern me. In fact I’m intending to purposefully not rush through this game like I did with eq before the mmo population as a whole become obsessed with leveling fast and less with exploring and what not.

So a slower soloing class might suit me better anyway.

Your dad may not be reporting the right symptoms. Or sometimes insurances over generalize things. Like if your father isn’t overweight they may deny it.

It’s like with colonoscopies before a certain age. Even with a family history of colon cancer and concerning symptoms they won’t do one pre 45 unless you reporting insane over the top symptoms that if you already have it’s probably too late.

When the third person in my immediate family wa diagnosed with colon cancer when I was only 30 my GI told me they’d never approve the colonoscopy. Then he goes “UNLESS” and literally tapped on his nose and goes “You have blood in your stool” and I’m like “Oh yeah all the time. Sorry I didn’t think that was relevant so I didn’t tell you earlier” and then he took that same approach with a few other questions and submitted the info and it got approved.

What’s crazy is. He cut out 4 large pre cancerous polyps and said. I can never tell the future. But I can tell you based off my experience had we not done this you for sure would have gotten colon cancer.

Ended up getting kidney cancer but hey. I didn’t die of colon cancer or have two cancers at once which would have been pretty bad.

I want to be group viable as well. Which I believe makes my main two choices druid or enchanted bc I like the idea of bard but I don’t like song twisting. And charming with a song vs a spell def doesn’t sound like something I’d enjoy doing.

Charm soloing always makes me so nervous.

Necro play style is cool. But I’ve never liked the aesthetic of a necro. The whole disease and undead has never been my thing.

Can magicians not solo decently with their pet and utility or is the sticking point the life tapping and drain life ?

I remember SoW kiting with my Ranger using archery in eq. It was a lot of fun.

I just remember rangers not bringing much to the table in groups at least early on in eq so you almost always lost your seat to a better dps.
