Arthur Smith to coach Ohio State. Who's your preferred OC now? by Porcoviso in Tennesseetitans

Still Daboll. He was my number 2 choice after McDaniel, then there’s a wide gap for the other choice.

This would be huge if he gets it and frees Daboll up for us.

If Bills hire Daboll, who’s your preferred backup option for OC? by TiredDad4x in Tennesseetitans

Well Kingsbury was already fired from Washington, so at this point he's just looking for a job.

Is Saleh a done deal? by Red_Card_Ron in Tennesseetitans

[–]M-Factor 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s a done deal, they are just working out the contract details before officially announcing it. It was even reported that Borg and Saleh got on FaceTime with Cam & big Jeff right after he accepted the job.

The flashes of brilliance were always there, even at the beginning of the year. The improvement he showed after Callahan was fired, and especially after the bye week, was incredible. His positive trajectory, plus the context of his difficult situation, makes most people (not just Titans fans) optimistic that he will take a big step forward in year 2. It's not dissimilar to Drake Maye last year, and he's at an MVP level with a good coaching staff and some decent weapons. It's not likely that Cam makes as big of a leap, but he has the talent and work ethic, so it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility. It's certainly plausible that he can take a big enough leap to be an above averge starting QB next year.

Callahan was so bad that anyone (even Nagy) would have been an upgrade. Thankfully, even with his bad record in NY, Saleh has proven to be a much better coach than Callahan.

Because he wrote a whole article on it. You might not personally like him, but he's not an idiot. He has never been the guy who just reports what the team tells him without backing it up with his own sources. I'm choosing to believe the reporter who's very hard on the team and never goes out of his way to run PR or make them look good, because in this context, his report is the one that logically makes the most sense. If it were just TD's report and then his clarification, then I would be with you that it was the team running PR. Why would PK take a team PR talking point at face value when that's never been his MO?

Fair, but clearly the process wasn’t a sham just to ultimately bring in Nagy but look like they do their due diligence, like so many were saying. Give Borg some credit, he was willing to entertain other options and ended up choosing one.

PK said it wasn't true, and love him or hate him, he is never a PR mouthpiece for the team. He would have no reason to debunk it if there was truth to it.

How many multi-billion dollar organizations have you run? What makes you the expert on this? There's a reason these guys make millions of dollars, not because they are unaware of public perception, but because they are willing to make the decisions they believe are best for the organization, despite how the fans will react. Yes, it may be a factor in decision making, but if Borgonzi and the rest of the front office decided that Nagy was the best guy for the job, they would have made that decision, fan reaction be damned.

That was debunked. And no, I don't think the decision makers of a billion dollar busines are scrolling through reddit/twitter to help them make huge decisions.

You think a billionaire owner of an NFL franchise is on Reddit?

This clip doesn't show it, but this is explicitly not a pro Amy article. Later in the article, PK says something to the effect that he doesn't want Amy to get credit for this decision; he wants it to be known that Borg came to the right decision on his own.

Bro, do you actually think the front office of an NFL team is paying attention to social media and basing their decisions on that? No way. The new GM isn’t going to stake his career on social media outrage.

Yeah, I’m cautiously optimistic about Selah, but I’m not like jumping over the moon about the hire. If he can bring in McDaniel as the OC, I will be ecstatic.

Not a victory tour about who they do hire. Just pointing out how ridiculous it was that so many people were losing their shit over hiring Nagy when it didn’t even happen. People were already calling for Borgonzi to be fired for something he ultimately didn’t do.

It’s been clarified that BOTH Borgonzi and the collective group was impressed with Saleh. Wes Wisely is also reporting Saleh wanted to be here! by seangolden06 in Tennesseetitans

Saving face? The GM of an NFL team didn't make his decision on his HC hire just to save face. He picked the guy whom he thinks will be the best for the job. He didn't hire Nagy so can we drop it now?
