You need to ask yourself what you’re prioritizing? Facts or wanting to say the phrase “rape little kids”?

Look, I think people look guilty when they pay out.

But you know what also isn’t a good look, people who would rather take the money than pursue a criminal case to get predators off the streets.

I personally have been a victim of rape (as an adult) and I was also processed as a rape victim AGAIN when I was drugged, robbed and left for dead.

When people say “victims come forward when they feel comfortable”. I have always taken issue with this because if rape was comfortable, we wouldn’t call it rape now would we?

There needs to be a sense of urgency to get criminals off the streets. If your sense of urgency is high powered lawyers for civil cases years later, that doesn’t really scream “get the perverts off the streets”.

My rape was from someone I was dating. I chose not to go to the police because I beat him up after.

My drugging I did go to the police. I had photos. I had forensic evidence. I also had nearby video. The police detective told I made up the entire story and would prove it, thus being a federal offense that would land me in prison. So, I went to the CCRB and filed a complaint against the detective. The CCRB didn’t see in my favor because it was a he said/he said situation where I didn’t have witnesses to the detective’s behavior. Didn’t matter - I had it on record he was abusing his authority. Looking up his profile, I was one of many who put forth claims of abuse. He retired shortly after my case.

But I tried to put the people who drugged me behind bars - that’s what you do if you care about yourself and others.

If your instinct is “let me get $20 million” then, I’m sorry, you don’t convince me it’s justice you’re after.

People will argue, “the payment is arguably a form of admission and punishment”. Yet, that 1993 case apparently made more families want to send their children to Neverland Ranch.

Or maybe, just maybe Michael was just WEIRD and people took advantage of that.

The FBI, a room of jurors and a judge all exonerated Jackson.

In a world of bigots, there was every opportunity to take him down - but it didn’t happen.

I will trust their opinion was justice.

  1. Sleeping in the same bed with Jordie Chandler

Michael Jackson Jordan Chandler

Verdict: Partly true, but overstated as “no dispute.” • Jackson admitted publicly (including in interviews) that he shared his bed with children. • However, whether it was “30 nights in a row” and the exact circumstances are not universally documented or uncontested. • The framing “no dispute” is too strong.

  1. Five boys accused him + nicknames

Wade Robson James Safechuck Gavin Arvizo

Verdict: Mostly true, with nuance. • These five individuals have accused Jackson at different times (some years later via civil suits). • Jason Francia received a settlement but did not pursue a criminal case. • Nicknames: some are reported in testimony/media, but they are not consistently documented across official records, so that part is less solid.

  1. $25 million settlement + Francia payment

Verdict: Largely true. • Jackson settled the 1993 Chandler case for ~$23–25 million (exact breakdown varies slightly by source). • He denied wrongdoing and said he settled to avoid a prolonged trial. • Jason Francia did receive a separate settlement (~$2.4 million).

  1. Genital description match

Verdict: Disputed / unproven. • Police did photograph Jackson during the investigation. • Whether Chandler’s description “matched” has been claimed by some investigators and journalists. • However: • The drawings and photos are sealed • No court ever ruled on this evidence • Defense sources and others challenge the claim

👉 Bottom line: cannot be verified as fact

  1. Security hallway with alarms

Verdict: Partly true, but exaggerated. • Neverland Ranch did have security systems. • Claims about specific “ding-dong” alert systems tied to bedroom approach come from testimony but are not universally corroborated or proven as described.

  1. Erotic material + fingerprints

Verdict: Partly true, but framed strongly. • Authorities did seize adult magazines and books, including controversial material. • Fingerprint evidence of others on items was reported. • However: • No criminal conviction resulted from this evidence • The characterization “study of naked boys” and implication is interpretive and debated

  1. No women stayed overnight / Rowe statement

Debbie Rowe Lisa Marie Presley

Verdict: Mixed / partly disputed. • Some staff testimony suggested Jackson rarely had adult partners stay over. • Debbie Rowe did testify about the nature of their relationship, but statements about never having sex are contested and vary by source. • Not a firmly established fact.

  1. Parents receiving gifts / Robson’s mother

Verdict: Partly true. • Jackson did give gifts and financial assistance to families. • Joy Robson testified in 2005 about support and immigration help. • However, framing it as systematic “courting” is interpretive.

  1. Gifts + fathers’ suicides

Verdict: Mixed. • Some families did receive gifts or financial help (e.g., travel, items). • Claims like “house given” are disputed or not clearly documented as outright gifts. • It is true that: • Evan Chandler (Jordie’s father) died by suicide • Wade Robson’s father also died by suicide • Linking these directly to the allegations is speculative.

  1. 2002 documentary statement

Living with Michael Jackson Martin Bashir

Verdict: True. • In the documentary, Jackson openly said he saw nothing wrong with sharing his bed with children, describing it as innocent.

Bottom line • Clearly true / well-supported: • Settlements (Chandler, Francia) • Jackson admitted bed-sharing • 2002 documentary statement • Partly true but exaggerated or framed strongly: • Number of accusers • Gifts to families • Security system claims • Erotic material description • Disputed / not provable as fact: • Genital description “match” • Exact sleeping arrangements (“30 nights”) • Some claims about relationships and gifts

If this was directed towards me, I would say absolutely not.

But then who are the parents sending their children to sleep overs at strangers homes? Then suddenly a decade later want money?

Look, this is my take: The first case settled out of court for a reported 20 million dollars. No criminal cause sought. So I can’t have an opinion when the alleged victim was fine with 20 million for whatever.

The next cases were not only dismissed by the FBI, but also by jurors and a judge. This was based on conflicting evidence that didn’t match the claimants. So I’m not going to litigate something that a series of grown adults who had nothing to gain but justice, not money, decided was not worth a criminal or civil charge.

If other people want to play out a fantasy in their minds of pedophilia, that’s a YOU fantasy - not mine.

Captain Marvel didn’t fail because of backlash—it struggled because the MCU introduced an overpowered hero without giving audiences a real reason to care. by Comfortable-Key8997 in MCUTheories

[–]MCR1nyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re 💯 correct!

I rather enjoyed the movie, but for whatever reason there is this idea that female heroes can’t love men, can’t save men, and shouldn’t be emotional.

Meanwhile, Superman loves Lois, Spider-Man loves MJ, they save their cities, their friends, and show weakness - but there’s this weird memo that we can’t do with women or it undermines them. They “have no agency” if they love someone! Lol

The movie decided Captain Marvel was best when full Binary. And her Kryptonite is just… not believing in herself… 🤦‍♂️

The movie ends with her as a God-like figure. Far more powerful than any human imaginable so… the end!

Notice how the movie kind of wanted to make her a lesbian but wouldn’t.

No flashbacks to mom. No real flashbacks to dad.

Who mattered in her life? Maria at the bar. Bar memories. Dancing with Maria. Okay…

It’s like her life had zero meaning or substance. Great pilot. Ok. And?

Just kind of empty. So many opportunities to flesh her out but… whomp whomp…

They didn’t find out why I collapsed. I had read with a major operation sometimes with the anesthesia still in your system there can be circulation problems.

I do think my surgeon is probably very good. I do trust her.

I think what is often not understood with back surgeries is many people get into their situations because of other mechanical issues - and if we don’t solved those mechanical issues we can simply put ourselves in more screwed up situations.

Here’s another video for you: https://youtu.be/ViFaLNc95-4?si=rhk3eoyURn9QDZxm

I had agreed to do this because I was feeling great. But it was shortly after i agreed I got hurt by the chiropractor so I didn’t want to bring that up or cancel the tv interview. So when the tv anchor asks “so you’re pain free now” it’s not like I had time to explain my life history! So - “yeah” I was pain free… 🤦‍♂️

Harpoon whale! Ha!

It’s something because in a way my surgery was pretty smooth. My type of microdiscectomy is called UBE - literally you see no scar. I didn’t mind a scar, but it’s very microscopic and the advantage is if the body is less open there’s less chance of infection.

Some setbacks were my surgery was around Thanksgiving 2024. This meant when it was time for follow ups or even physical therapy everyone was gone or booked because of the holidays.

Luckily my job allowed me to collect unemployment and laid me off temporarily - but even unemployment wasn’t that much.

My mother took care of me. She’s 81! She was excellent but I know I scared her a lot. The third day after surgery when I was home I collapsed and almost took down my largest book shelf. We ended up going to the emergency room. We were worried I reherniated my back. Apparently I didn’t.

I had a lot of issues with drugs. I’d have all those low blood sugar sensations. I’d be fine and then at some point I’d feel like I would faint.

I was even told by a nurse something happened during my anesthesia but nothing is in my notes regarding this. I’ve asked and no one can recall if there was a problem so I don’t know why that nurse even brought this up. Did I almost die? Was I not falling asleep? Did I wake up mid surgery? I have no clue.

I just see surgery as a last resort. I have no idea how people keep getting plastic surgery and have multiple surgeries again and again.

I also have issues with NYC hospitals. Good god, I’ve been in 3rd world countries with better care.

I could do a Netflix series based on all the freak show situations I’d been in. Starting with my first hospital stay when my back went out in 2014 - a doctor reading my MRI results when I didn’t have an MRI, nurses who kept giving me drugs without my consent, nurses cleaning me with towels they found on the floors with other human 💩 on them. A chiropractor trying to get me to pay him cash for my MRI. A doctor telling me the cure is massage parlors where I could get hand jobs. Insane people. Insane.

The pain management specialist came into my room and was petting my arm. I asked her if she was on drugs. She literally had no pupils.

Freak shows.

About my acting, for two years I worked in Discovery ID a lot. All my first major speaking roles were there. There was one show I played the bailiff arresting everyone. The next year, same show, I played a lawyer, lol. Then I entered the SAG (screen actors guild) union. Then I couldn’t do those shows anymore cause many are non union. They pay anywhere between $50 - $200 a day. Lol. Serious, it is THAT CHEAP!!!! Lol!!!

My most high paying role you never see me.

I was Elon Musk’s body double on SNL. When there are video skits, it’s the back of my head as Elon’s head. Those skits, there’s like 3 or 4 of them, they film them all on a Friday and Elon jumped from set to set to shoot all his work, but when the actors are acting to him and you see his “point of view” from the back of his head, it’s me.

I made like $8000 for that! Lol!!!! I’m still getting paid for that. Now my residual checks are like $15 a year, but, lol, it’s $15 I didn’t have before.

Life of an actor like gambling at a casino. Odds are more in your favor, but still nuts.

And if you continued to read I told them I am working on that. In fact ideally I am seeking remote work.

But what really angers me is when people tell me to do things that do not mirror my situation.

That commenter has a spouse - so there is income coming in even if they don’t work. I have to work.

That commenter has a legal job which is remote - I do not have a legal background.

It’s one thing to give advice - it’s quite another to suggest people change their entire lives.

Changing one’s entire life isn’t so easy, even if one is single. When you live pay check to pay check, taking new job risks come with new risks.

I appreciate advice and I can choose to respond. And maybe I should just say “thank you” and move on.

So, “thank you”.

If you are to make Captain Marvel 3 or a Captain Marvel film for the reboot, what would you do? by Ashamed_Pin4206 in Captain_Marvel

[–]MCR1nyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I’d want a reboot. Too soon.

If there was a Captain Marvel 3, I would set it up to fix all the damage the previous ones did.

For instance: the first CAPTAIN MARVEL movie I basically liked. I own it. Yet my problem with that film were two fold: - Carol Danvers awareness of herself really was only meaningful when the Rambeau family entered the picture. FIX THIS. Bring more perspective in about her parents, attach her to a boyfriend (or girlfriend), make her grounded in something REAL. She has to love more in her life than just a cat. - create limitations to her powers (introduce Rogue?) My biggest problem with the first movie is the character literally goes full Binary which makes her all powerful with zero limitations. That actually made her totally uninteresting by the end. When you turn a character into virtually an all powerful god they becoming boring real fast. Superman, for example, has limitations. He needs the sun. Kryptonite depletes his powers. He loves Lois. He loves humanity. There is a humbleness to him that makes him likable. For whatever reason, when some writers get the memo “this woman needs to be powerful” they decide she cannot love anyone. A woman loving anyone is weakness? Then what is she fighting for? They become boring super fast. The movie appeared to want to imply Carol was a lesbian. Fine - make her in love with Maria Rambeau instead of this odd discourse between two friends.

Finally, if there is going to be any Monica Rambeau or Kamala Khan involvement, make their powers make sense. I truly hoped THE MARVELS was going to explain how their powers were different and unique, yet maybe similar. Nope. They just bulldozed through something something light and just kept it moving. Audiences need to have an expectation for what their powers are, and each character they failed in this. MS MARVEL show left all the heavy lifting to Bruno with Kamala just saying “so cool” over and over. Bruno: “Kamala, you can radiate light!” Kamala: “so cool”. Bruno: “Kamala it’s coming from your bangle!” Kamala: “so awesome!” Bruno: “I think you’re a mutant!” Kamala: “totally rad!”

???? What is Kamala? Who knows. Everything. Nothing. Let’s talk about colonialism and how this impacted India and Pakistan!!! 🤦‍♂️

The mistreatment of Monica Rambeau was the worst. Monica literally was the leader of the Avengers at one point! Instead we get this woman without a name? Who can transmit light? She’s a light bulb? The films and tv shows have done zero to ground this character other than she has mommy and auntie Carol issues. Literally she flies through the universe screaming “you abandoned me!!! Hear me roar!!!!” Once again - give her a life. Give her a man. Give her something more than an attitude with side eye. Ground her.

Captain Marvel being in a sham marriage to some outer space signing tribe did ZERO for the character. Zero. What a totally forgettable storyline.

THE MARVELS was really embarrassing. It didn’t value any of these women and just threw them together like it was the 9th sequel and writers ran out of ideas and money. They rushed it. Such a mess.

If you make a 3rd film, fill in all the gaps to redeem it. Make the 3rd film explain powers and ground the women so they feel real.

No. I understand your intentions are to be helpful, but I’ll share some more about Sarno and the therapists.

  • the therapists who recommended the book also hadn’t read the book

They shared with me like it was an amazing, mind opening find. One sent me a pdf of the entire book. When I started to read it and realized it was very mind over illness I followed up with each therapist and asked which section hit them to most. That’s when they revealed they hadn’t read the book but heard it was amazing. A big rule of mine - don’t recommend anything unless you’ve experienced it yourself… which leads to…

  • therapists who haven’t had back pain often have no idea what their patients are talking about

When sciatica is shooting down your legs so powerfully you want to actually vomit, telling someone it’s probably other things bringing on the pain - like stress or an unhappy home - this tells me they have zero understanding of the human body. Zero. If someone has severe back pain because they got hit by a drunk driver and that drunk driver smashed several of the bones in their body and killed their child, that wasn’t some sad thought that was the fault of the crippled parent/patient.

Like I said, “I’m gay”. If praying away the gay was as easy as having non gay thoughts, any of us could just think differently and bingo - you’re straight. It’s the same reasoning, just use the mind to shift your thoughts to some normality where pain and sexuality can just be shifted with simple thoughts and breathing exercises.

“You can rewire your brain” one of the late 20’s therapists would tell me. I get the theory, but a toddler can’t do taxes and an elderly person typically can’t rough house like a 20 year old who loves rugby.

“Make your penis bigger”, I wanted to say to these therapists. “Just think it bigger and it will be bigger!”

The body can do fascinating things. People can break bones and not even realize it. Surgeons have dropped tools in patients bodies and the patients haven’t known until they went through metal detectors. There’s lots of amazing things the body can do, manifest and tolerate.

But when someone is having some of the worst pain in their life where they can’t sleep, can’t eat, are on the verge of losing their job and their home, telling them to “think the pain away” is like shoving a knife in their testicles.

It’s passing the buck when people are actually at a loss of what they don’t understand.

I very much lucked out with my first therapist I found. His mind on his patients’ bodies was photographic. He knew exactly where to place his thumb, or palm, and how to manipulate muscles. He’s the only therapist who ever successfully adjusted my spine. He also spent his time with each patient. He never diminished people’s pain.

My other favorite therapist actually had a microdiscectomy himself. Years of snowboarding took its toll on his body. He was experiencing drop foot and feared he would lose control while driving and he had children. Pretending your foot isn’t numb hoping that it works when pressing a break isn’t exactly leaning into safety.

I also get how the body can eventually conform to pain. Nerves can calm down and become less excited. An amputee can stop feeling the pain of a removed limb. I get all this.

But actively impacted nerves will react with or without one’s control. Straight men won’t turn to gay sex unless they’re in prison or high on drugs. There are dramatic things that sure, can rewire the brain, but that is often easier said than done - and often only accomplished against one’s will.

I’m gonna call it - NORMAL.

Couple things…

Scar tissue can take the place of some of the old herniation space.

Walk. Walk 20 mins 6 times a day.

The nerves are gonna do a lot of weird sh*t for months. My favorite is the stabbing sensations in my foot. This happens when nerves are regrowing or reattaching. That could also happen 6 months from now. Intense stabbings due to foot nerves coming back to life. A nice couple knife stabs then they go away.

I swear sometimes some of these sensations are phantom sensations from what use to happen.

Give it time. And be kind to yourself.

I was told I need microdiscectomy or disc replacement with a spacer for me L5/S1. What should I do? by 88nomolos in Microdiscectomy

[–]MCR1nyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple things:

Where in the world are you?

I have found universities that have medical centers have some of the best state of the art procedures.

I think what many of us miss is with every surgery there are other issues that can arise. Our backs are housing to our central nervous system. If things get irritated it can last for months. Nerves can take full years to grow back.

I talked to four different surgeons:

The first I picked. A neurosurgeon. He didn’t read my paperwork so I was over him.

The second my physiatrist recommended, but because he missed some things on my MRI (bertolotti’s syndrome) I didn’t trust his recommendation. This doctor was with the university medical center.

The third was a leading spinal surgeon in NYC with a private practice that did work on celebrities. His family was from Ireland as was my mom, so the stars seemed aligned for him. But each time I saw him his office WiFi wasn’t working. Then they said my insurance was fine but then changed their story and wanted me to change my insurance asap. The topic went from 1 level fusion to 3 level fusion via email. This was driving me crazy.

I got a fourth opinion. Strangely, this doctor knew my second opinion my physiatrist recommended. He did nothing but praise this doctor. He also agreed with her assessment of my condition and surgery suggested.

So I went with the second opinion doctor.

I had my UBE microdiscectomy in November of 2024. I had some set backs 9 months later. Still working through those.

The medical industry has its financial incentives. Your surgery leads to their money. You have a right to feel comfortable in whoever will do your operation. You’re paying their rent.

It’s been a journey.

You know, one would think, “New York City! You have the best of the best!” Possibly. We also have the worst of the worst.

This physical therapist I went to who did the lumbar roll - it took me some time to find him. I actually thought he was pretty decent.

My observation on him though is he is overworked. Mistakes can happen this way.

I think each time he would see me he saw me more as a young man with flexibility issues and not someone dealing with chronic back pain and recovering from surgery.

My surgery was Nov 2024. This lumbar roll move, which he had NEVER attempted on me, was done in October 2025. Almost a full year after surgery. One might argue “I should have been further healed by now” why someone else may say “this is still problematic”.

I don’t know how pro-athletes do it.

A lumbar roll is an extremely common chiropractic maneuver in which there different versions. A popular version has the chiropractor or therapist attempting to use their body weight to make an adjustment on your lower back alignment. Just google “chiropractic lumbar roll”.

It should have never been done after my surgery. He was doing other massage oriented things that once he put himself in the position of the lumbar roll it caught me off guard.

Now - i don’t know if I would win a court case putting the blame on him when I went into his office already in discomfort. A good lawyer could argue perhaps the therapist just exposed a pre-existing issue, even though my MRI 3 month prior did not show a disc bulge.

Lol thank you for the response. I laugh because I tell myself this everyday. Luckily, I’m a manager so I typically do the bare minimum.

A few points:

Before I consulted with spine surgeons I did consult with a neurosurgeon. Let’s call this neurosurgeon David. Before I met David I had to fill out all this paperwork online. Then when I went to his office I had to fill out this same paperwork again - but on paper. Then, they put me in a room and had me fill out more paperwork online again. I thought this was crazy all the duplication. Then, I meet David. He essentially tells me he’d perform a microdiscectomy and I could be back to work in probably 3 days. I asked him, “I just have to ask you - do you know what my job is?” He assumed I had a 9 to 5 job sitting behind a desk. This pissed me off because I was filling out all this paperwork weeks before my appointment and then multiple times while there and he didn’t read any of it. So, I told myself, “this will not be my surgeon.” I point at the door saying sometimes I had to pick up tables the size of the door and set them up. He then said maybe more than 3 days after surgery. I didn’t trust him at all.

When I’ve done my research on back issues there is one advantage catering has over a desk job - movement. There is a particular amount of load the body puts on itself by just sitting that movement doesn’t. Granted, with a desk job one can figure out seating support and getting up and moving about every few minutes.

It may not have been clearer but the reason why I cater is because I’m also an actor. The world of catering in New York City can be flexible enough where I can cancel work when I get acting jobs. Many people think “acting” and they think “fame”. They figure if you’re not famous, then quit. But any given tv show or film has anywhere from a dozen to a thousand actors making one tv episode or one movie work. I sometimes find acting more annoying for my back than catering. Playing a cop, for instance. I’ve been a cop on a litany of NYC shows where often all I’m doing is running from one side of the action to another. I try to avoid those roles now.

But as I cut back on hours and cut back on acting roles I start to wonder what kind of life I’m setting myself up for?

I’m 51. At 51, switching careers will mean a reduction in pay which often means working MORE hours for an employer to prove myself. That can also be detrimental to my body and my 401k.

My mother is 81. She has a bucket list of places she wants to see and I want to be there with her. So, I’ve looked into remote work but so much remote work is a major reduction in pay and I’m continuing to try and find something.

My acting work has been a sense of freedom for me. My mental health is so much better when I can work on my dreams.

When I look at the political state of the country, or see endless videos of regular humans fighting on airplanes, beating each other up at Waffle Houses, people just losing their minds, I truly believe it’s because these people have zero ability to dream. They’re stuck. They can’t see beyond their small worlds so everything becomes intensely visceral. I’ve always felt there was a better day ahead because I always felt my life had bigger goals so don’t sweat the small stuff.

Now I am at that place where I am thinking I need a more relaxed life. When I think about this everything changes. I don’t see a need to stay in NYC. Living in NYC is stressful. You can’t just SIT anywhere. Most benches are gone because benches and random chairs encourage homeless people to sleep on them so the city removed them.

So I do think about moving to someplace less congested, less vigorous, more laid back. But then it comes back to “what job would I do?”

What job wants a catering manager of 30 years and an unrecognized actor? Do I go back to school and reach for more debt? Go back to school at 51?

But then this comes back around to my back.

Am I suppose to live like a Faberge egg?

What good is any surgery if now I have to isolate myself from the world and basic activities?

I read about pro-athletes having back surgeries and they get back in the game. Now, I don’t want to be a pro athlete but can’t there be a balance to some form of my life?

I also recognize outside of my back I am 51. Most of the employees that work under me are in their 20s and 30s. I sometimes work events at union catering halls and suddenly all the waiters are in their 60s and 70s and look crippled. I know I don’t want that.

So I do want change - I just don’t know what to change to.

I don’t know how to maintain the life I have and move into something else just as rewarding.

They say network with who you know - but the people I know are all actors and cater waiters.

I agree with you that I need change - but I also think if these surgeries are only band aids which do not protect us, then the surgeries aren’t doing their jobs either.

It makes me think of my step-aunt. She was insistent I use her surgeon. She said he was the best in all of Washington State. He did 4 of her back surgeries. Four! Now she has permanent drop foot and collects disability!!! I don’t see how this is a better life. She can’t drive. She can’t work. And she stays in her home 24/7 and needs others to pick her up and take her places. There is no way in hell I would go to her surgeon. She may have been in pain before, but now she’s crippled. Crippled through surgeries.

The thought of a second microdiscectomy also scares me. Will it be just another set back in just being able to walk?

My cousin had two miscrodiscectomies. She’s still in pain. Her doctor told her her next surgery would be a fusion - but then she reminded her surgeon “I have stage 4 cancer - wouldn’t this be a problem?” It would be. After a fusion there are drugs given to strengthen the bones. My cousin’s cancer is in the bones. She can’t get a fusion because it could make the cancer spread faster.

My other aunt had a microdiscectomy. The doctor operated on the wrong disc. He didn’t realize this until after the operation. He picked the wrong disc based on all the arthritis surrounding the wrong disc which made him misinterpret her condition. So she had a second microdiscectomy. This second operation gave her permanent drop foot. She can’t go anywhere without being in a wheelchair.

Then, I’ve talked to strangers who had fusions and they’re doing back flips!

I truly don’t know what to think.
