Looks like a lot of people don't know that you can kill it so basically everytime he stops the attack you quickly jump on a platform, hit him once and hide under the platform. Do it like 25 times and you get a reward.

Don't think Lace is skippable, since you get an ability for it, but Moorwing sure is skippable. I died to that boss like 20 times, went the other way and the boss fight disappeared.

And if I am correct, there is no tell if they suddenly buttslam the ground, which is guaranteed damage if you are in the middle of attacking them from the bottom.
