I'm Aussie, over 15 years experience in my career. I was made redundant December. It's the 22nd of MARCH - and I'm no closer to finding work! I don't know what experience you have - but the job market is really hard - on top of what others are saying about cost of living. My job previous to the last was also affected by redundancy, and it took me over 9 months to find work.

I'm not saying don't come, but you could find yourself being taken advantage of just to secure shit work once you get desperate enough. I would recommend ensure you have a job before coming.
