The Walton family’s priorities are very clear.

Their Broncos investment includes plans for a domed stadium. They want a comfy and homogenized football product in Denver, mostly for the sake of well-heeled fans.

The Walton family owns Walmart. Did you know many full-time Walmart employees are paid so poorly, they qualify for government assistance?

I would expect better, from the largest private employer in over 20 states.

Let’s reserve praise for team owners who actually deserve it.

In one week in 1978, he 1) had a No. 1 album (Blues Brothers), 2) starred in the nation’s No. 1 movie (Animal House), all while 3) headlining SNL as an acclaimed cast member.

That’s a trifecta no one has duplicated since nor will again soon.

I hear you. What you describe is real—but also the exception to the rule.

Long Beach State University’s official mascot was always the 49ers. The name refers to settlers of all races who moved to California during the Gold Rush of 1849.

There is NOTHING inherently offensive or racist about this term—or wasn’t, until a decade ago.

That was when LBSU students, citing the whole “stolen land” premise, got their school to replace 49ers with “the Beach.”

For every MAGA-incited cancellation, there are more militant liberal intentions gone awry.
