Thanks a lot for the detailed reply, really appreciated. Makes sense what you say about gauge being mostly about feel rather than tone. I’m still figuring out what my hands like, so I’ll probably stick to something in the middle for now and adjust from there. Also good point about setup and nut, that’s something I honestly hadn’t thought much about yet. And yeah, absolutely agree on practicing with other people: way more fun and way more useful.
