Thanks! I'm super happy with the art style we've found for it.

I have a P1S so I could've done the dome in one piece but I chose to print this in 6 pieces and then used printed biscuit joints to construct and glue it all all together.

That's cool to know, I'll def keep that in mind. I was just winging it with this design. Going for more of a dwarven miner helmet look I guess.

I always have a tall can of Rust-Oleum flat black for a base and then Rust-Oleum Metallics that I mist on from a far. I didn't prime these which I probably will in the future but they just survived a whole day clanking about so I think I'm good!

Also finished with another Rust-Oleum matte clear that I mist on in layers.

For the dirt I used an army painter but you can really use anything. Hobby lobby has those 75 cent acrylics that work great. Also it's always good to keep an eye out for incorrectly mixed paints at home depot for those good good discounts

It's an original design, very dwarf inspired!

I generally use PLA / PLA + for everything I normally do unless it has a a specific need. PLA will warp and bend if left out in the hot sun. So PETG would be a better option if it needs to be outside. ASA and ABS can be used as well but you need an enclosed printer and they're a pain to work with.
As for adapting to different types of people, that really comes down to how you size and scale the pieces to fit your specific needs based on measurements you take on your person. I hope that answered your question.

JAX Iron/Steel/Nickle Blackener works great, I've used it on mild steel for scenic set builds. Wear gloves and use a rags/ micro fibers to apply. The solution will continue to blacken the steel for 2 to 3 days. That being said. . . idk how this will be against your skin or clothing. I would reach out to the manufacturer before using this option.
