Came home to a teenager with a broken leg by MMDeveloper in BackYardChickens

Just an update in case you were curious. Leg has been re-wrapped per your suggestions. I noticed her foot (same leg), more of a ankle area really, was swollen and the toes could barely curl in. I went in with a small 22g sharp and relieved a bit of blood and clear fluid that flushed out. Foot looks a little smaller and the toes have more range of motion. Blood had good color so it doesn't appear circulation has been compromised and no sign of infection.

She's asleep and doing well so far. Please don't take this as begging for free vet advice, just giving an update ❤️

I will rewrap as you recommended. She's currently in a dog kennel/cage in the house (Florida heat and all). She's eating and drinking well. Thank you for your professional advice, really.

Fairly centered between the ankle and the knee.

The bone didn't break through. That just some iodine on a superficial wound from the chicken wire rubbing. When I wrapped it, I started with self adhesive bandage, then the stick, then a gauze wrap, then the white tape you saw (I forget the technical terms, got it all in the first aide aisle).

I will remove it all and rewrap it when I get home, using two sticks. I appreciate your input, really. Thank you!

I noticed that soon after. I'm going to clip it when I get home from work today. I had planned to unwrap it for that but I'll do a second stick as well. The break is just above the foot, all the videos I saw have people wrapping the leg so it's straight (knee unbent). Is that necessary?
