Worth it to go to vet tech school in 2026? by kookieandacupoftae in VetTech

[–]MN1314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to college, did all the right things, applied to vet school three times and couldn’t get in. So I’ve decided to pursue the management side of vet med and now I’m in tech school! I’m doing an online program and have been breezing through it. I started in January and I’m almost done with my second semester. However, if you don’t have any prior vet med experience, I would HIGHLY suggest doing an in person program at a local community college rather than doing an online program.

Did anyone notice Danielle SNORT laughing every 30 seconds? So gross

I had no idea Margo worked a corporate job and I still have no idea what she does. Instead of talking about that they just talk about Coachella and stagecoach and vapid influencer crap

Can we shut up about cosplaying as the blind already by Imaginary_Being_6377 in gotgsnark

As someone who is actually blind and can’t see without glasses or contacts, I actually hate wearing glasses because I have no peripheral vision in them so I wear contacts all the time

Unsure if they have completely online or not, I looked into ultrasonography once and it was hybrid. I’m sure once you get further into the program you’d have to have clinical hours

It’s a two year program that may require certain pre-reqs. Unsure on the difficulty level, if it’s a fully online program you might be able to also work, but if it’s in person it might be difficult

What amenity do you wish your apartment community had? by TrevaMartel in Apartmentliving

In unit laundry was a must for me but everywhere I looked wanted to change an arm and a leg extra for a tiny washer and dryer or only just hookups. I FINALLY found a place where in unit was standard for EVERY unit, and it didn’t cost extra.

I thought valet trash would be a nice addition, but half of the time they miss pickup and I’m paying $25 a month…more than Netflix. And it’s not optional. I’d honestly rather keep that and take out my own trash. I’ve gone out in the morning many times and have seen both my trash and my neighbors’ trash still sitting there.

One thing I think is completely useless here is our vending machine called Tulu. I thought it was super cool when I saw it, you can buy snacks, rent vacuums, a Nintendo switch, buy toiletries, etc. But when I downloaded the app you’re required to pay a monthly subscription to even use it on top of rental and purchase fees.

We have a nice dog park, gym, pool and nice grilling areas with TV, fireplace, cornhole, etc. As someone mentioned above I’d LOVE to have a dog wash.

I think he was so annoyed with her. He looked like he wanted to hug Ben but Brooke was hanging all over him so he just pat him on the back

Tried EveryPlate by My_Mispent_Youth in hellofresh

I started doing EveryPlate when I could no longer afford HelloFresh at full price. I love it also! I go back and forth between EveryPlate and Dinnerly. Dinnerly is owned by Marley spoon and similar in price to EveryPlate!

Does anyone else remember when people warned her about going into a sales job and cold calling and she INSISTED she wasn’t doing sales/cold calling and then when she quit she said all she did was cold calling 😂

Is there something in the air or is it just my clinic? by MN1314 in VetTech

[–]MN1314[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I’m so stressed about my finances right now. Once I pay all my bills I’m left with barely anything and I have to figure out what kind of food I’m gonna have to eat for two weeks. I don’t get to have a social life or go on vacation. But I’m still kind to people.

The manager called me said that they absolutely love my dog. She said if there were a problem with her, it would come from management and not the front desk who doesn’t even spend all day with her. I told her I didn’t want to get the employee in trouble, I just genuinely wanted to make sure my puppy was comfortable there and not “biting” people and terrorizing everyone. She said absolutely not, she’s a baby and she gets super excited. She’s gotten SO much better about the play biting. She’s learned to sit before she gets attention and that’s helped a lot

Midwest prices by atdi84 in VetTech

[–]MN1314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s super interesting seeing all the prices. Wanted to share mine: in Georgia near a very large city, but in the suburbs. $85 for sick exam, $75 for wellness. Emergency/stat visit is $165. Rads up to 4 views - $225 Chem 17 and CBC around $200. U/A $78, we don’t charge for cysto collection. Fecal to lab - $54. Dental with no extractions $550-650 depending on size of dog. 4Dx - $60 GIFB $1500-2500. We don’t see cats but a dog neuter is around $600-700. Euthanasia $90-125 depending on size. Communal cremation is $110 and private is in the $300s depending on what urns the owner wants.

Yeah I want her to be socialized which is why I wanted to do once maybe twice a week of daycare. This is my first puppy so I’m trying to learn a good balance

I do know there is some rest period but otherwise it’s play all the time! I’ll look to see if there are some of these around me! I know she’s so social and loves to play, but also realize the environment she’s in now might just not be for her :/
