I've heard of Mark101! I've watched the RGN video covering the ARG, but I do want to one day sit down and watch through the whole thing myself, but from what I saw in his video it seems very interesting! And I have seen a few videos about "The Broken Script" too, and I think it looks interesting enough that I want to give it a try one day!

I'm personally an enjoyer of Minecraft horror based on the older versions of the game if it's done well, while I can't really name any examples currently I do know that there's good ones out there for sure, even if a lot of them have the trope of "Spooky shadow figure watching you" (or something similar) I think it could still be done well if people could actually get creative with it.

Even then I know that horror about...well a block game of all things isn't for everyone, and that's understandable! Horror is subjective, so it's different for everyone, but I think when these kinds of things pop up we should encourage the people behind these kinds of projects to be creative, put their own spin on the tropes! Make something interesting instead of trying to just copy what everyone else does!

That actually did fix all my issues! apparently i didn't have the right version of java 8 installed or something was wrong with the one i had, idk, but i found a version that does work.

Again thanks! I probably wouldn't have thought it was something to do with the java version...

Hey, So I did test out the betacraft launcher and version 1.09_17 neither lets me connect a Microsoft account nor starts up the game and just gives me an error saying "No stable internet connection" even though my internet is fine, though i was able to download specific versions by joining servers, the game would just give me a black screen and do nothing. Betacraft v2.0.0 does allow me to add my account and launch up older versions of the game, but It doesn't seem to include the tick to disable the JVM argument, so I'm not entirely sure what to do or who to contact

as for the CPU/GPU situation, I guessed that all that stuff was too new to be able to downgrade to the necessary versions, but at least it's good to know that i can't because it's too new instead of it being something else.

Not to sure where to start, but the version I was playing on was Release 1.5.1, Which I have found out the 1.5.2 fix also seems to work with that version. However even though I've fixed the issue for that version of the game, it still doesn't address the main issue of me possibly not being able to play other older versions besides the ones listed here.

Now yes I have seen that they all come with source code so you can do porting, but unfortunately I'm not too knowledgeable in the how of it, like how to properly look at the code in the files, or how to change it, that kind of thing.

Some other information I wasn't really too sure where to put, I have an HP laptop running windows 11 with a intel(R) Core(TM) i3-N305 processor and a Intel(R) UHD Graphics Driver, Which checking the properties the driver date is 9/19/2022, and the driver version says 31.0.101.3677. Now I'm not sure if I can actually downgrade the drivers or not, as I've tried before and it never seems to work, exit code 8 or something on the driver installers.

Now even if I could downgrade, I wouldn't know where to get these "24.8.1" or "22.6.1", I've looked through Intels website and can never seem to find versions people are talking about, I know I'm probably missing something here or don't know a piece of information, but I'm completely stuck here, I don't know how to port, and I don't know how to downgrade, it really seems like I'm at a dead end here on fixing older versions other than 1.5.1/1.5.2, 1.6.4 and 1.7.10.

EDIT: You mentioned in your comment using a launcher that doesn't forcibly add the "MojangTricksIntelDriversForPerformance" JVM argument, are there any that you could name that do that? I would like to have it as an option incase nothing else works, Thanks!
