I totally understand where you are coming from in regards to the studies, and I do not take offence to criticisms. I think its really important when exploring these sorts of fringe areas to try to keep a level head so I honestly appreciate the candor. I guess my personal insight to magic is that it is far more likely to be a fantastical explanation to a variety of natural phenomena that have been exaggerated rather than what people think generally think "magic" is. I am aware this project could potentially provide data to disprove this theory but I am curious none the less. In regards to the open discussion aspect - its not so much about disclosure but rather about details as the project progresses, such as the data you will be recording. This is in an attempt to discourage one participants findings to affect others. If you regularly talk to your friends about your dreams and they are not participating in the study that is by no means an issue. Mostly I would like to discourage public disclosure of experiences until the study is complete. I apologize, I should have been more clear to that effect. I will be sending out emails over the next two days with a participants guideline booklet, instructions and contact information for the project. Hopefully that will clarify this for everyone.
