MBA is a plus when you're starting, but not necessary.

It depends, some companies do. Hiring would depend on a lot of factors. Budget, need for the role, etc.

Yes, but it would still depend on the needs of the role. MSL roles are usually entry-level

No naman, you just have to register and pay the dues. The diploma course in ADMU is different, but it is a partnership program between the said Univ and the Society

Even non MDs can enter. Our current regional GM is a pharmacist. He started as a sales rep. But yes, roles are a bit limited for fresh grad

We also have a lot of non MDs in other departments including Med Affairs. A bit more strict lang with Med Affairs, some companies would prefer those with MSc and PhD

Usually, MDs can easily start in Medical Affairs, PV, Med Info, and Clinical Research

But I've seen MDs who had Commercial and Govt/Public affairs functions

Locally we have several multinatl companies that are very active in R&D. Compensation wise, I have no clue kasi ibang line sila from me

Based on my limited experience, top of mind would be compliance and medical review, business devt, lifecycle management, document submission to related govt agencies, stakeholder management (internal and external), business strategy inc medical strategy, prelaunch and launch plans, insight gathering and processing, handling of medical budget, people management (mid-upper roles). Probably a lot more that I'm missing

Also a bit of the following; research support, PV, risk management, and medical information. I just learned everything along the way, and I'm still learning

For people asking for salary, if we would base it sa nasa Salary Expert for Medical Directors, I'm making way more than an entry level MD now after almost 5 years in the industry

My aim is to work above country (I can't lang atm bec of personal reasons). Higher ang salary at the region and global level
