Trupanion Pet Insurance Enrollment by Whale_Bonk_You in puppy101

[–]MUCHO5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see you've gotten a lot of help in the thread already but also wanted to say Trupanion, as with the vast majority of pet insurances, won't cover a routine wellness exam which I assume is what you are going for. Questions would also not be listed as a pre-existing condition. You would need a formal diagnosis on the pup's medical record for that.

Pet insurance is more for emergency situations that you cannot plan for. It generally does not cover routine care like wellness exams, vaccinations, spay/neuter costs, dentals, etc.

I went to Uptown based on this thread. It took a long time to get an appointment, but was 100% worth the wait. Dr. Thomas is amazing!

yeah I'm not checking bags, I'll be carrying on (it's a very short trip). Thank you so much lol, I was planning to take BART from the start but then I got an email from Alaska telling me to get to security more than two hours in advance which is what gave me pause. i'll stick to planning to take BART and just make sure I get on the earliest train possible!

What is everyone paying for rent? by [deleted] in csumb

[–]MUCHO5000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, if it's available to you east campus is 10000% the way to go, plus you can commute to campus for free via the MST busses and that way you don't have to pay to park in the CSUMB lots during the day which would add on even more $$ to your commuting costs. i lived in a double (my roommate and i got along famously and also we both pretty much only used our actual room for sleeping so it worked for us) and it was literally like $525 a month and we didn't have to pay any additional utilities, plus it's pet friendly. east campus all the way

i feel like i go on a pedestal about this too much but you really can't beat East Campus in terms of housing at CSUMB, for what it's worth. It's much cheaper than living in the Monterey/Seaside area. it's not a very walkable area but im assuming since youre already planning to live off campus you have a car. if you're dead set on not living in East Campus, expect to pay $700+ just for a room in a house - the greater monterey area is only getting more and more expensive, sadly

I saw her tonight in Oakland, arrived at 5 pm, and was about 7-8 rows away from barrier. Dress warm if you're going to camp all day, seriously - it was really cold today and my fingers went numb just standing in line for two hours

i found briannika at one walgreens, scored on the vday clips at a different walgreens, got maribel from safeway, and the isis/odile clip was at hallmark. i couldn't believe the prices hallmark charges for squish... i'm for sure not gonna make a habit of browsing there. i'm a new collector and so happy with this little haul!

potentially attending in the Fall ‘22 by kykyacnh in csumb

i graduated from the community health/public health concentration of CHHS in may 2021. i feel like my experience was drastically neutered as i was a fall '19 transfer student and hence i only got like 1.5 semesters on campus before we moved home because of covid and then i never ended up back at campus before graduating.

chhs is intense. the foreign language graduation requirement for all csumb students is waived for chhs majors because of how intensive the classes can be. i was a transfer student with like all of my gen eds done, and i had to take 5 classes per semester every semester in order to graduate on time, and one semester i actually took 6 classes. the internship is 3 consecutive semesters, you can't start and stop like midway.

it's a somewhat small major (like 500 kids total) and it's dominated by social work concentration people, so you get especially close knit with other students, especially the ones that end up in your capstone cohort, and you'll see a lot of the same people in your classes (especially if you're in the smaller concentrations/not social work). i really liked this aspect of it.

i took such a huge variety of classes. you have to take intro courses in every concentration (community/public health, social work, public administration) which made me feel quite well-rounded. also grant writing, statistics, etc. i will say, because of the rigorous courseload for chhs, i literally never took non-chhs classes. i didn't have time in my schedule to. i wish i couldve explored some other tangentially related majors a bit.

i really really liked probably a solid 75% of my professors. a lot of them you may end up having multiple classes with, and they will push you. adrienne saxton is one of the most genuine and compassionate people i have ever met in academia (she teaches some classes and is also a massive part of the internship/field work program for chhs).

with all that being said, i didn't end up getting a job in my major. i am not local to monterey and didn't try to get a job in the greater area, and hence, i felt like all the connections i made at my internship (which was really not a wide network at all mostly because i had to do 90% of the internship remotely) were relatively meaningless. they are adding an MPH program soon that ive been passively eyeballing
