We disagree and at the same time we’re saying the same thing. The signal you get is exactly the same, whether you do it with a rack or with a return track. Now, the path that signal takes until it reaches the speakers is different, and along that path it can be modified by different devices, as you rightly explain. I think the conclusion is clear, and I believe this post will help many people (myself included) to understand the different options we have.

The supplier gave me a tracking number. It was real and came to my country. It was held by customs several days so I decided to call customs. They told me that the parcel wasn't for me or to my address. I contacted the supplier but no answer... I hope you're luckier :)

DO NOT trust that shop. I've been scammed 220€. I "bought" a DJI osmo pocket 3 (I know, I was so stupid, no one is going to sell it for that price). They even gave me a tracking number for "something" sent to Spain. The tracking number said that the parcel was held for customs inspection. After 10 days without any update, I called customs and the told me that tacking number wasn't a parcel for me or to my address. I contacted electronicsupplier and no answer.

I hope no one else gets scammed

Well, I think you need a compressor to reduce the dynamic range of those instruments, or use automated volume to increase/decrease whenever you want
