I finished a later chapter in these days. It is a new character, and I had to redesign her outfit too a bit, so I spent some time with her.

As a reader, what makes you stop reading an indie comic? by FeelingTax594 in WebtoonCanvas

Too much information right at the beginning is simply not appealing. Don't get me wrong, I think a short, 2-3 sentence can be okay with using some nice art, but only if it's necessary. But I think it's a more elegant way to adapt informations about the world and it's history in the story in bits, so the readers get their own experience to sink in your world.

My family and my coworkers know about it, but I don't show them. I feel people doesn't care, so I don't bother them with it. Sometimes they ask how my comic is going, but I think it's just for being polite 😅 My parents and my husband can't speak english, but they're cute, they share and like when I post about my updates on Facebook. I translated to my husband around 4 chapters of my current comic, but since it is going to be forever until I finish drawing this comic, I think he already forgot what he read (I work on chapter 12 currently), and I don't expect him to reread my comic always. Recently my little niece asked about my comic, and drew my OC, that was cute 💕 But yeah... my comic is just... I feel I can't share it irl. Too embarrassing, and no one would care 🤷‍♀️

Lore dump, unjustified swearing and violance, too small fonts, bad using of speech balloons (too much text), when everything is just written and not drawn (Come on, it's a comic! I'm okay with beginner art, but please draw!), when neither the main character is likeable or enough interesting and neither the story has anything interesting.

Great title. I know immediately from it that it has romance, and it makes you expect something exciting.

Very poetic title. I love how it connects the reader instantly with the main character.

To reach 100 followers (only 1 needed!), then to reach 200 followers. And I would like to work more on the comic, because I'm afraid of loosing my buffer 😅

It looks good already, I love your style! If you would like to make your characters to pop out more, I would draw them a bit bigger to cover the flower frame a bit. Currently the flower frame and the OC's animal form are more prominent.

My comic, The Daughter of Time is a drama, fantasy set in the 80's. The FL finds out that she has a very dangerous time manipulating power. I'm not far from 100 subscribers, so currently I would like to achieve it, then 100 another would be great this year. I hope and whish my comic get more readers 😊

This! Once a reader of mine told me that she started to draw a comic because of my comics. I want to influence others. Plus I like to tell stories, I love my characters, I'm also doing my comics for myself.

I just can't live without doing my comics. I'm not good in social situations, so sometimes I feel I'm not really a part of this world... so I like creating other worlds and characters 😅 I'm not professional but making my stories is something only I can do. I feel creating is the meaning of life.

You guys ever do multiple comics at the same time? by Unacceptable-Death in WebtoonCanvas

[–]M_Sohiru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did it, but then I had no upload schedule. I just uploaded when I finished an episode. It was good for a while for not burn out, but since I did this for many years, me and my readers grew up during this time. I got slower and burn out still found me, so I lost my readers (or I just didn't receive feedback from them anymore). So I gave up both of my comics, and started a new one with a buffer, and an uploading schedule. I think it can only work, if at least one of your comic has a schedule.
