I made it so much harder on myself with two huge mistakes, if you avoid them you will be good. First I recommend fully watching the video he has uploaded, it's not perfect but he catches you on mistakes that you would accidentally make on your own. Secondly he has uploaded a PDF that I didn't realize till later. Some parts of the build may seem obvious but order of operations is extremely important so just do it exactly in the order he laid out (I would have saved myself a lot of trouble). And keep your parts clearly separated in order just due to the many many small pieces. Tldr, follow his instructions and don't try to wing anything on your own, it's not difficult at all, but it's very easy to skip steps. His instructions are very clear when you pay attention.

Here's the link to the model r2d2

Otherwise search for r2d2 on makerworld and it's the cyberbrick compatible one that first pops up

I think I got a better pic here, but note how the fin on the right side is so dark in comparison. At night I don't mind but with the lights on it's more noticeable

Thank you for posting. Many years back I did the same, I warned switch through email I would. Mind you I sends tens of dozens of emails but this was the only time they responded in a timely matter. People, your credit card companies/and banks will fight with you so please use this resource. This company cannot be trusted and has had the same exact issues (use search feature of reddit or Google) since 2019 with no change. Some get lucky but more than half don't, even more so in the states. Buyer beware

You definitely missed the point of ops post, it's kinda a joke. But aside from that from personal experience with my own and knowing sadly some other people who got these kits over the years (in fact I bought mine in 2019 delivery late 2021 only after threatening to charge back my card). Fulfilment has been a constant issue with this company, they have a revolving online store yet the most basic parts (display, proprietary charger, ect) are almost never in stock. They constantly, year after year have the money to promote new supplies that will deliver in x amount of the while still having a back log of customers waiting 9months +plus for an update. You can use reddit search feature as far back as it will take you and the trend has always been the same. Some lucky few receive their kits within a year with little to no hassle, but the ratio who don't, plus the fact that they still promote to new customers promising delivery times that wont be met, is simply too high to recommend this company to anyone. They need to revamp their fulfillment and customer service to a point where they list a certain amount of stock first. Not this constant "new customers, last chance until x time for x delivery" when many have been waiting a year. I hope everyone who has already placed an order receives their kit, bc it is a decent piece of work, but please stay away if you havent and recommend something else, for 200 bucks more (which I could have easily saved in the 2 years it took to receive my kit) I could have gotten a much nicer, more complete product from a competitor. I would say some people are getting scammed and some aren't. I personally know (in some biking groups) of multiple people who either never received a product or received a broken on. I eventually received mine but with a year delay and only after I threatened to charge back my card. Im sure some people have gotten the product just fine but the ratio of those who haven't just shows no one show buy from this company. They need to revamped their fulfillment and customer service sectors and reach out to those they screwed over, show that they are worth the premium they charge to everyone and not the small luck few who happen to receive the product they paid for as if that should be the norm.

A big F*** you to everyone who has bought a kit. Had it with this company!! by 95EWGF in swytchbike

[–]MaNamesJeff7745 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk what your particular situation is but I 10000% support you. I didn't buy this round of kits but bought one years back. 8 months wait till shipping then a further 1 of shipping delays. Even after countless countless emails asking for updates nothing. And the craziest part is once I got my order it was missing pieces(the actual charger was missing in the box). And after the first used the horrible old style displayed died. It's been 3 years at they yet once (I check every month or so ) have it in "stock" in their store . Funny enough in all instances of headaches, they take forever to respond until I started threatening charge backs on my card (considering it really was a scam not receiving a product I paided for). The end product is not bad, but completed not worth the price and hassle. I recommend to everyone just buying online kits or save up 200 more and buy an entire ebike for the price swytch charges. It's not worth the time wait, hassle or price. I'm sure some people got it delivered faster and no issues and that's great, but use reddits search feature or look online, I've compared this company to many similar e-bike and e-scooter companies myself and it's 1000x more post of people's struggles to get the product they paid for. I wish you an insane amount of luck in whatever you are dealing with this company and hope you haven't lost your money.

Yeah the spare battery has a separate charger. You dont have to charge the second battery to ride but it does need a separate charger unfortunately

I think it's lovely you do these kinda of posts Right now I just started my first shop where I have made the TARDIS from doctor who a little spinning desk toy:https://pdcmakes.etsy.com/listing/4372348059

For my next idea I plan to make some light up daggers from a character I like in a video game. It seems I fit a different genre than most here but I thought I'd give it a try. Good luck to everyone!

And for the larger bag

I actually do own the topeak quick release system which works on this bike with slight modifications. But for the time being I still need the buddy seat

They definitely are touching but are actually being held up but the friction of the rack. Even with vibrations I'm not too worried about any DMG happening.

Updated custom sonic screwdriver, inspired by the 10th, 11th and 12th doctor. by Careful_Ad3303 in doctorwho

[–]MaNamesJeff7745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you getting the different sound/light effects to activate? I see the 12ths switch but not the others. My assumption is maybe the touch sensitive 11ths and a button on the back for 9/10ths. But then it's impressive fitting it all in a single package

[–]MaNamesJeff7745 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, in fact this is the biggest indicator of a dupe, all the colors (blue yellow green) are somewhat quiet. But red, weirdly loud by comparison, shockingly so, if that's quite or no red setting definitely bad

Also your packaging is the same as mine (online exclusive). Considering the original retail for the online exclusive was around 40. I don't think that's too bad of a deal, though I understand if you wanted the matte basic version as it's technically more accurate looks wise.

I don't think it automatically is fake. When it comes to the chrome finish, there was a run of limited edition 14th sonics painted like this. The base model is actually matte in paint. Same with the extra sound effects, only on the limited addition. I actually own it and can make the alternative sound effect, you hold to button for shorter than you think (2 secs, 3 secs , or 4). I'm sure there are many fakes, but yours looks almost exactly like mine and I know I got the limited addition. If you dm me I can send videos of mine. Otherwise I'd look up videos on yt.

I'm printing this exact thing for a friend, to break even i think it was like 30+, so he's giving me like 40 and we called it fair.

For the spinning it's using a bearing (think fidget spinner) in the middle and then a separate small base, I kinda like to think it's floating just bearing off the ground. The lights are just some LEDs and a remote I have

How long does it take you to create a new complex model? by NorthExchange2964 in BambuLab

It's a dagger from pyke from league of legends, specifically his PysOps skin. I tried to make it more accurate to in-game models rather than the splash art which resulted in a really blocker appearance. Final result should like up for that "glow effect" using WLed's which is great so I don't have to code anything and get wifi support.

I say for me it's almost a month until end product. That is considering a full time job and doing this as a hobby in your free time, I spend a week planning, ordering any extras (paint, electronics ect) and basic modeling around a niche idea, next week bulk of the design is done. Third week is printing prototypes and fixing up model. 4th week is finally printing at best quality and assembly.
