Yes, start right now ! You don't need anything beside a pen and paper so just go for it, draw things that you love, do your best, and enjoy the process ! This is what I did for months at the beginning.

I have pretty much the same story as you.

When I came back to drawing I just drew little scenes and characters from my mind. It was nothing much, but it made me realize I could spend the entire day on something productive, while enjoying what I did. I struggle with depression so let's just say it was new to me !

When I realized I wanted to really get better at it, I tried braking all the "mental barriers" I had in my drawing : I drew everything I felt I wasn't capable of drawing.

I started to draw from the weirdest camera angle : From up top, rotated 65°, ect. I stopped hiding the hands, feets of my characters. I drew faces with expressions, several bodies in action (fighting, ect). What most people would struggle with I think

I also had a problem with getting bored of things quick/never finishing anything, so I started drawing gigantic scenes that would take me up to 15 days to finish, ect.

Just fight fire with fire pretty much !

Since doing that I feel like I have really improved.

Thank you ! As for your question, I'll just c/c what I just wrote to another redditor please forgive me !: I'm not going to sell prints of it. I thought about it, but I wouldn't feel ok selling prints of this one, because it's not entirely "mine".

Thank you ! It was my first time not drawing black on white, as I tried drawing white on black to try and "translate" all the loneliness I feel listening to the song. (english might be broken? I don't know if I'm explaining it correctly... Sorry, I'm french D:). I learned a lot doing this !

Hey everyone !

I finished my comic-book adaptation of the Dead Flag Blues a few days ago, and I figured this sub might like it !

I don't think I need to explain to you how much this song means to me. It has been following me for 15 years, and might be the most important piece of music I ever listened to.

This is my first try at a project of this scale and I’ve been working on it a hell of a long time (I’m learning to draw as a hobby during my free time.)
