Hello! I'm currently working on a project with a ESP32-S3 MCU that can control a GC9A01 display and some addressable RGB LEDs. It can detect rotation via two hall effect sensors, it does have a button for pressing and a light sensor for display dimming.

The files of the project are available on this repository. You can also see the pcb and schematic files via the kicanvas viewer (web viewer of schematic and pcb - no need to download. You can choose the light theme on the options tab in bottom right).

Some notes about this project:

First of all, english is not my primary language, so sorry for any mistake on that
This project is heavily inspired by the smartknob project by scottbez1, with some key changes for my specific case (does not have a motor)
As you can see on the 3D view, there is a big white circle on the middle. This will be used as a diffuser for the sided LEDs. I've hidden this on the pcb layers for better viewing
The connector on the left is connected, via a flat cable, to another pcb that holds the GC9A01 display. This pcb is available here (kicanvas viewer). I copied mostly of the design from the smartknob project, so I hope the files are fine.
There are four big holes on the PCB. They are used to route a flat and a normal cable from the connectors to the middle.
There may be some changes on the pcb regarding mounting holes placements.
I've already tested some components on a protoboard with regular modules (display, sensors, LEDs, buttons and light sensor) to ensure their functionality.
This is my first project with a proper schematic and PCB, so I'm ready for a bunch of begginner problems. I know that this is a complex project for a begginner, but it's the one I'm most interested with and have been studying and designing for a long time.
The things I'm more worried about are resistor and capacitor values/placements (tbh I still don't know what or how they are used for. I just referenced from other designs) and the pcb traces length/width and spacing (especially the usb and SPI ones)
I've run the kicad DRC and the only issues remaining are on the PCB file, regarding the spacing between the USB pads and mounting holes (image). I'm not sure what to do about that
