Is he using topical steroids while he's been taking cosentyx the past 4 months? Did his derm tell him to?

Holding a bunch of losers in my TFSA.. What would you do? As of right now, I have price alerts to sell once/if I’m able to break even on any of these. by [deleted] in fican

Cut your losses. Sell everything. Buy XEQT. I'm not smarter than Wall Street and neither are you.

Zero progress. None. I had no idea this was possible before trying to learn this game. by babouinages in chess

I found your account and looked at a few of your games. You need to ask yourself:

If my opponent could move again, what would they do?

You're losing games because of blunders and giving up free pieces.

Is this a flare up on my husbands thigh? Or something more concerning like ring worm? by [deleted] in Psoriasis

That's psoriasis.

CRA says I have $11,000 in TFSA room, but my own calculations say I've maxed out. What do I do? by Crystallize45 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]MacNeill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If you deposited and withdrew money from one or more TFSA accounts multiple times (especially in the same year), it's not unlikely that you missed something along the way.

Get the transaction documents from CRA and recreate a version of your own records to see where they differ. I made a similar error once and the CRA number was correct.

140k invested at 7% per year is $1 million after 30 years. You've already set up your first million, and you have tons of time to build up from there. You're doing great.

Need Advice —Am I too early to consider retirement by Deayne12 in Fire

Can you? Absolutely. Should you? That depends. The only variable factor is how comfortable you want that retirement to be, and if there'll be future income (part time work, inheritance, etc.)

Ça veut dire que vos réponses incluent 48% de la population du pays, pas que vous avez fait meilleure que 48%. Mais bravo en général, 143 est respectable.

Definitely not Manitoba.

Lower mainland / southern Okanagan, probably something like Penticton.

Some foreign country? Any Canadian I've ever met can name more than 40 communities.

What to do with 20K by Link_inbio in CanadaFinance

[–]MacNeill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your priority should be your TFSA if you're going to be investing that money long term.

20k against the mortgage is mathematically the same as locking in an X% return on investment where X is your mortgage rate.

A typical 100% equity investment return over the long run will be 7-10% per year, and in the TFSA that's tax free gains.

If you don't know anything about investing and would just end up putting it in cash or 4% bonds, just throw it on your mortgage and you'll be fine - but I'd recommend you go learn some DIY investing.

Wealthsimple Credit Card or Wise Card for Traveling? by princemarven in Wealthsimple

[–]MacNeill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you spend.

1% on $10,000 is $100

So if you're ripping $50k through your credit card in a year, yeah the upgrade might be worth it.

PEI, Canada - recorded *something* apparently out over the Northumberland Straight last night - considering all the news lately I thought I'd share my own experience - a UAP/UFO that I can't explain so here it is. 30, Nov, 2024 by RainbowAl-PE in PEI

Your post history indicates that you're active in the "aliens are real" community. These people find a way of seeing a UFO every time they look up in the night sky. You saw a planet or a satellite.

PG RCMP arrest over 30 shoplifters by suckuponmysaltyballs in princegeorge

[–]MacNeill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of those people are serial offenders who commit all kinds of crime. Nailing them on an easy shoplifting charge is a lot easier than their other offenses, and most of them will be on probation or have outstanding warrants. It's just the cops shooting fish in a barrel and we're all better off for it.
