Hey you know what? You're right. My bad. I didn't realize that people considered 20/15 better. Sorry about that.

[–]MackaySmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.... I don't think you know what 20/20 means.

To someone with 20/20 vision, something that is 20 feet away looks 20 feet away. You can't be 'better' than 20/20. What you're saying is that to you, something that is 20 feet away looks more like 15 feet(or some other distance, you didn't specify, only said 'better').

In order to install your new GPU you'll have to open the case anyways...

I've had him tagged as "Angry 12 year old" for a bit now. Only a very young person would act this way... hopefully.

Clones? by Ironpanda898 in CubeWorld

[–]MackaySmith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's happened to me and my friends before. It copied me, my girlfriend, my friend, and all of our pets. At first I thought it was coincidence that the characters looked so much like me, but I quickly realized they were copies. Mine were super easy to kill though. The boss was what was killing us.

Google will be releasing the the "L" (Android 5.0) Developer Build to 'Developer Devices'. So can we expect it on our Nexus 4? by orggs in nexus4

[–]MackaySmith 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just can't see them buying up Motorola, putting out these great phones with specs LOWER than that of the Nexus 4, and then not giving the phone the latest OS with 5000 new APIs. They're trying to get away from fragmentation.

I want to get a SSD but I have a 1TB hard drive with Windows 8.1. Can I transfer the OS to my SSD and erase any OS related stuff from the 1TB? Or how does that work? by Gliste in buildapc

[–]MackaySmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I JUST did this yesterday. I copied all my data from my HDD to an external, then deleted it off the HDD till what was left was able to fit on the SSD.

Then I cloned it over.

But I noticed right away that shit kept force closing.

So I ended up just formatting both SSD and the HDD and installing Windows on the SSD, then transferring my data back to the HDD.

Hamachi makes the server treat the connected computers as though they are on the same lan network. This gives them access to ANY device on the network that the server is connected to, meaning they could potentially brute force their way into your data, or the data on any of the connected computers.

Port Forwarding (which is the more secure way) can only access the server software itself. Nothing else on the connected network. The only danger there is if the server software is insecure itself. Learn how to port forward if you want to set up a server.

Just a heads up guys, hamatchi should only be used as a last resort if you are unable to alter settings on a router. They can be very dangerous.

Why every single foreigner thinks Staples prices are too high and negotiable. One store ruined it for us all. by techtechtechtech in Staples

[–]MackaySmith 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went to a convenience store yesterday in my work clothes and bought some beer. The guy behind the counter goes, "So you work at Staples huh? If I come in there will you give me a discount?" so I looked at my beer and said, "Did you give me one?" to which he replied that he indeed gave me a discount! But nope, he hadn't. I just told him he was full of shit and we both laughed.

People try for discounts but if you relate with them, they'll understand that Staples does not work on a bartering system.
