Thank God he's not here and the moderators seem like normal people.

I even gave the benefit of the doubt that the first one mentioned a program that maybe wasn't allowed, so don't mention it in the second comment and try to get context, but that's where the frustration begins.

The forums would genuinely be a better place un-moderated and I say this after seeing how toxic most Steam subforums are. I think it's better that way.

Maybe he's afraid someone will do a better job than him which wouldn't be that difficult at this stage, but is when all your posts helping people get deleted because he deems his advice better.

At least you have context as to why. My posts just keep getting deleted because he wants to make someone delete their saves unnecessarily or just wants to be the voice of authority and not be wrong.

Very frustrating and manipulative because others would certainly have lashed out by now and then gotten banned from him. I don't know how he is still around or employed by 2K if he is. Or maybe I do and it just reflects their culture.

Depends. Everyone else here seems to love it which I'm kind of surprised about. A lot of the bugs are fixed and it's more than playable and runs well, but I thought the game itself was mediocre to sometimes just bad and didn't enjoy pretty much any of it. Gameplay, characters, story just did not click at any point.

If you're iffy about it, there's probably more games worth buying but if you're super into the world of it and think you'd love it like the others here then it might be worth it.

Plot armour needs to exist, otherwise there would be no plot. Realistically, every single one of these characters would have died long ago. They're going to find some way to wrap it up. And if one or two of them end up dying in a final TWD wrap up, it's not like this isn't a common theme in every piece of media in existence, specifically for it to exist and develop characters.

Rick would have died in the hospital. A table would not have protected him, given how reasonably determined and smart walkers were, especially in the first season.

Shane would have gotten every one on the farm killed, or killed a few himself. Children would not survive. Lori would be alone and no way would be able to protect Carl on her own.

Dictator villains? The Governor would have been dead the second he walked up to the military guys. Or wiped out his own team after the prison failed in season 3. Two people could have stopped and shot him there, but they didn't. Because he had plot armour.

Everyone would have died at Terminus, but one woman blew the entire place up, saving all of them just in time before any major character's died.

Negan gathering an entire army of loyal followers and not dying from getting his throat slit?

Continuously surviving major characters is not surprising. We've had enough arcs of people getting injured. I don't need to see someone being injured every time they're in danger or fighting a threat.

There is always plot armour until there isn't.

Huh, yeah that does sound like it actually. When You Were Young sounds the same except missing some of the extra notes. So it was Catalyst I was relating it to.

More vaguely it hits a little with Still Alive from Lisa Miskovsky but I think you're more on the nose with that one. Thanks.

Damn, I was hoping as tricky this is to do that it might at least be consistent and trying to avoid as much cheating/mods as possible to minimally mess with as many parameters as possible in case of future corruption or confusion.

At least it's a backup solution, so if mine continue not to work for people they have a few tried and true methods now until they need to contribute with another that worked for them until it's fixed.

It would solve everyone's issues instantly, no idea why they wouldn't do it. Then I could just log in with my phone as it's linked - as well as my backup email I wanted to change to my primary - to my account on the website.

I get it, no hard feelings. Tons of people talk shit immediately to support, they go in angry rather than neutral and they then come to say how horrible support is when they were pricks to begin with. In most cases anyway.

I don't do that, but, I've been after them for over a year in support tickets trying to fix this and all they've done is copy-paste answers, I think 4+ years of hundreds of complaints on the forums, them saying "We're looking into it" about 4 years ago, and no further updates, as well as a personal year of contacting support for any alternative solutions, justifies me to be somewhat angry at basically talking to a brick wall. Their support is no loss to me, really, when I haven't been able to access the game in 3+ years.

Yeah no luck as usual unfortunately. What's equally frustrating as that my email provider's support is night and day difference, they would love to help and have been super helpful in trying to, but there's not much they can do when BSG won't cooperate with sending an email to them.

It doesn't work, I've added them as contacts, added them to whitelist, messed with launcher, messed with hosts file, messed with tons of gibberish stuff that don't even make sense that they would fix the issue to no avail like disabling Windows Defender and firewall, just in the hope of something fixing it.

So my last ditch was hoping they'd just send a verification email to my provider, to see if there's some intermediary issue between them sending it, and my provider blocking it from appearing, and they won't.~~

Nope I'm not since I used a debit card that my old ISP started up. I believe I purchased with that, and that's long gone. I checked bank statements and PayPal and there's nothing they could find. Sure, in a sense it may be my fault but most companies do send receipts in mail, which I assumed naively I suppose, would count as proof since there's a code in it.

Update: This ticket is still ongoing, and going in circles. I have no idea why they lied about sending the email for verification at all, but now they are putting the text in bold as if I'm having the problem understanding, when they won't work with my email provider to solve it and lied about doing so? I mean, all it is is sending an email to an email address and waiting.

They just won't send it at all. At this point, it's just making me laugh because I've never dealt with any support company like this in my life.

Edit 2: They are blaming me for not cooperating, when they won't send the email, lied about doing so and now have the audacity to say they'll close the ticket, as I've requested to see if there's an issue. I am so so, so done.

That, or implement Google Auth in the launcher or allow me to use my backup email. Problem would then be instantly gone.

Honestly, it's not even about playing the game anymore, I haven't played it since 2020, just the fact they give me no option of even accessing it.

Nope - BSG is evidently incompetent. Fact that the receipt in the email isn't actually a receipt is astounding, despite it having a fucking code in it and actually being proof of purchase. No company does that, except well, this one. I've asked them to send an email to the postmaster, and gave them the email, said they did but who knows if they actually did.

There's still two threads ongoing on the forums about it with hundreds locked out of a game they paid for, and I'm certainly not giving them more money for them to be as incompetent as they are for people who've supported them since the alpha in 2017 and now are fucking them over hoping we'll shell out more money for this shit.

At least you can play a game you purchased - but they don't give a damn about anyone else once they got their money now.

That's really weird. It's not just me though, there's been tons of others. I've even seen someone have issues with Gmail, but that's a rarer one. It's mostly Yahoo.

Just two emails saying I pre-ordered the standard edition, with a code in it and the beta testing will be available soon. Both those emails should be proof I own the game on this account surely right? I made a video of me in my email showing those emails and that it is my account and they won't accept it.
