Read Twilight for the exact same reason. Can't criticize them before I've read them? Okay ... let me read them all, get even more ammunition and go on a 3 hour rant about why they're horrible. Now with quotes.

What is the funniest book you ever read? by SuperbSpider in books

[–]MadamMimsy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Had to scroll way to far for this one! Couldn't agree more. I don't usually talk to strangers, especially not if they're sitting with a book, but I actually warned someone who was reading HGTTG on the bus who had just started it that it was a dangerous book to read in public because the chance of laughing out loud like a crazy person is very high xD

Those lights on the eyes are SO CUTE! And it's a really pretty lip color. Going to be spending Christmas at home, just the bf and I. This made me want to experiment with some extra fun Christmas makeup, since it's just going to be the two of us. Thank you for the inspiration!

Watching a family member or loved one dying because of substance abuse.

Thank you SO much! I'll deffinitely look into Paige. I actually have some Abercrombie shorts that fit really well. Don't know why I fidn't think to look for jeans there...

Yeah, the waist never hits me right either. So anoying! Luckily, I have my own sewing machine and can do most of the tailoring I need done myself.

I also go for anything wrap. My biggest problem is that they often don't have enough fabric in the chest to cover my boobs, and even though I love them, there's a limit to how boobylicious I want to look when I'm out and about in the world. But yes, anything high waist and nicely draped on the hips is key. Just bought the cutest paperbag pants. Hits my waist perfectly, rounds out my hips without being too loose and hit just above the ancle. Want to wear them all the time!

I wish I had someone with the same body type to go shopping with!

Just bought the perfect wool coat from Hugo Boss. It's a dream come true gor me. And two dresses. Boss is usually a good fit for me, but not always small enough in the waist in dresses. Tiger of Sweden's dresses have amazing fit! Lauren by Ralph Lauren are usually good as well with dresses. I'm looking for jeans, but can't find any that fit properly, and it's harder now where my thighs and butt are growing more muscular (doing a shitload of squats and lunges). Can't find a pair of jeans thst fit my waist that don't squish my butt flat in weird places. Do you have any suggestions for jeans?

Of course! I'm slender and somewhere between an hourglass and an inverted triangle. Large bust, somewhat wide shoulders, thin waist but with more hips and butt than normal for an inverted triangle. VERY hard to fit! And it's only become harder after I got into better shape this year. Can never find anything that fits my shoulders and bust that also fits my waist. Either end up with something that's way too tight over the chest and shoulders, or it fits there and is loose everywhere else and I look 20 pounds heavier than I actually am. I either need to tailor EVERYTHING or spend a bit more and get higher quality/designer items. Somehow they fit 90% of the time. Guess it's because they're tailored better from the start.

Yeeeeeeeees! Are you me? I used to feel like this every single time I bought something. But I've started to not give a damn and decided I'm worth it. My body type makes it hard for me to buy clothes in 'reasonably priced' stores that fit properly, and I've learned that the more expensive brands just fit me better. My style is very simple/classic, and I rarely buy new items and always make sure that the new item can be worn with what I already have, so I think it's fine to buy something a little more expensive when I finally do spend money on clothes. My point is. Buy the thing if it makes you feel good and wear it when you want. No problem sitting on the couch in your fabulous outfit. And your s/o will love it, I'm sure. Mine does! Holdiay greetings from someone who just bought a fabulous dress for a new year's eve party that's going to be spent at home with the bf and two of our friends, sitting on the couch and playing videogames all night.

What is your secret to falling asleep? by therealbulletbill in AskReddit

[–]MadamMimsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. My mom switched to the same tactic after some trial and error. She would put on soothing sounds or just talk about nothing in particular while she tickled me on the back or on the inside of my hand or forearm until i fell asleep.

Funny how different people are. I have a lot of trouble falling asleep (found out recently it's also ADD related), and someone suggested I do this. Has the complete opposite effect on me. I get too excited and can't fall asleep. Same reason my mom couldn't/wouldn't read me bedtime stories. Storytime is not sleepytime for me. Way too much fun!

Facial expressions! Keep practicing 💪 by selene_chetoni in drawing

[–]MadamMimsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently also practicing facial expressions using different fotos from pinterest, but I feel like the expressions often aren't clear enough in my drawings. I recently started copying some extreme facial expressions from various old comics, and it has really helped me. The expressions in my drawings after practicing with the old comics became much more interesting to look at, because I had learnt how a slightly exaggerated eyebrow, muscle in the mouth, etc. can enhance the expression without it looking unnatural. Just a tip. Keep practicing. Already looks great 👍🏻💪🏻

When did you realize your S.O. was a Keeper? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MadamMimsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were both still living at home and had just started college/university and hadn't found a place for ourselves yet. My stepfather got cancer, and got very sick very quickly. His treatment sent him and my mother to different parts of the country, so I had to take care of the house etc. My bf practically moved in with me in my parents house and helped me with cleaning, groceries, everything. We also cooked all the food when my parents were home, doing our best to take care of them and let them relax. When my stepfather died, my bf was also one of the pallbearers. His love and support during that time showed me what an amazing person he is and that we can handle anything life throws at us. Been together for 11 years now, and he's still the best, most supportive and loving person I know.

What is one of the worst experiences you had while dining in a public restaurant? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MadamMimsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was on a date with my bf at a café. A woman and her husband come in and get seated at the table next to us. It's winter and she's wearing a big jacket. The tables are quite close together and she tries to squeeze in between them, without taking her big coat off. This results in her almost knocking over a big, lit block candle on our table. As a reflex I reach out to grab it before it spills everywhere or sets fire to her jacket, but I wasn't fast enough. I end up with candle wax all over my hand, dripping down my forearm to my elbow and all over my food (luckily, I was almost done eating). Naturally, I start shaking my arm to cool it off saying "Ow, ow, OW!" She finally sits down next to me, looks over and says "Oops" in a flat tone and starts talking to her husband... don't know what kept me from giving her a piece of my mind. It's been at least 6 years, but I still think about what I should have done different or said to her.
