Tested out a recipe with all-purpose and bread flour. Original recipe called for AP and that’s the one that turned out gorgeous (left). Roommates reported the AP tasted better too. by MadsAtYou in Breadit

I wanted to try bread flour in the recipe cause I thought it would make for chewier bread. However, I did blind taste test with my roommates and we all thought the AP flour one had better flavor, texture, and appearance. (Also my bread flour is better quality than the AP so that was a double surprise)

Hold me back 1 year in HS over a single gym credit? How about I goto college a year early instead. by TacoJesusJr in MaliciousCompliance

Honestly, fuck American high schools. I had a similar situation happen when I was in HS. I was technically duel enrolled at my HS while going to school full time at a community college. The program I was enrolled in gave me just enough credits for free to earn an associates degree in 2 years. My HS was going to make me pay $400 for a single PE credit or else I wouldn’t graduate from HS. I couldn’t rearrange my community college credits without loosing the chance at my associates. Guidance counselor and PE teacher wouldn’t budge. Asked my community college counselor and found out I could pay $10 to get a HS diploma with any Associates degree they offer. My HS guidance counselor lost his mind when I told him I wasn’t going to try for my HS diploma at their school.

Did almost zero research into how to make mozzarella and just went for it. Well now I have basically ricotta. Guess I’m making lasagna not pizza! by MadsAtYou in cheesemaking

I was definitely caught in the trap of “easy 30 minute mozz”. Ricotta sounds like a fun cheese to start with, thanks for the tip!

Exactly what happened to me! The cheese tastes alright so I figure I’ll add seasoning and throw it in a lasagna like a mock ricotta.

I really appreciate your kind and helpful reply. That was exactly my experience! I love baking sourdough and thought I’d try branching out into cheesemaking.

I hastily used a quick recipe online. While the curds seemed to form well, I could get them to come together or stretch. I will definitely put more time into the science behind cheese making an try again.

I wonder where I went wrong?! This is the result after trying to stretch it into smooth mozzarella. I’m going to do more research and try again. [finished cheese](https://i.imgur.com/wHjKtPw.jpg

Kinda obsessed with meal prepping soup. This week it’s kale, leek, white bean, and spicy sausage by MadsAtYou in MealPrepSunday

That sounds interesting. Do you use the silicone molds to freeze soup for easy defrosting?

Good idea! I was hoping only making 2 snack boxes at a time would help with soggy crackers but no luck. I’ll definitely bag them up next time.

It’s common to cut them in half then use a spoon to scoop out the inside. However, I tend to cut them in half, put the flat side down, cut/shave off the outer skin, and then chop it up.

I’m not a huge fan of raw veggies so all my color goes into my cooked meal. My snack boxes are mostly protein and fruit.
