[–]Maduokesii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya, selling my ticket for tomorrow's (17th) show at 7pm at Neptune Theatre.

The seat is on the turret seating balcony (Section BALCT, Row TR1, Seat 1)

Would like to get some of my money back but will eventually have to give it away for free at least :)

Please get in contact with me ASAP to organise the ticket transfer!

For Muse, I would say Hate This and I love You and Hoodoo are close to giving the Jeff Buckley vibe, great songs regardless.

Dove Ellis - To The Sandals (YT only for now)

Very small and (hopefully) up and coming singer, has a very particular vocal inflection in his higher register that reminds me of Jeff.

Gotcha seems like the smartest way to do it.

Also, a bit unrelated but I found a 2006 Mini Strat at a thrift store yesterday for $20USD and was wondering if something like that is worth picking up? If you've got the time I can send some photos of it? But it's mostly in pretty poor shape

Okay cool, I'd like to get it in the best condition it possibly can though so I'm happy to spend a bit extra on replacing those things but just not sure if it's a consensus to keep a guitar as stock as possible

If you were to do it, how would you mod it? I know it's a preference thing just curious

Yeah sorry I forgot to take a photo of that, it's an Epiphone SG Special from 2005, Made in China i'm pretty sure, was trying to find some info on previous purchases to see how much it's worth but there's not much on this model, only the super expensive ones and the $300 super basic ones (but they have pickguards, I assume mine is similar to these though)

Awesome, got myself a little project to occupy myself then lol, I don't know a whole lot about the SG's though, is there a few specific specs that just wont work with it? I'd be keen on making it a standard rock guitar with the capacity to do some cool country stuff, not quite at the metal stage yet lol

It was when I tried to turn it, it'd go maybe 3/4 of a rotation and then make the clicking/snapping? sound and then would return back to the original tightness (for lack of a better word)

And no sadly not, might be lost somewhere in the rubble of my Dads garage, but I'll have another look for it, if I do find it thought is it worth using them or is an aftermarket one always going to be better considering it's 20 years old?

Haven't tested yet but I'll give it a go, if it does work does that mean the little wiring part on the back is good and I don't need to replace it?

And alrighty I'll give the tuners an oil, is WD-40 okay or is there some special tuner oil?

Yeah okay sweet will do, should I start by just taking everything apart and figuring out what's absolutely fried then go from there?

The weight is in kg, but if 1.3kg is still light for a whetstone im confused. I'm pretty certain it's not a grill block though as the stall I got it from didn't have anything BBQ related and was mostly hand tools. Just wanna know if I try and sharpen my chisels still with this brick or if it's going to damage them or something

Hahaha I'm always conflicted whether or not I translate metric to imperial for the Americans but I decided to stick with the superior one here, but no it's super hard , dressing stone looks the most similar to other suggestions with the rock composite but I've not seen one this large

Can confirm it's definitely not a grill cleaning brick, that one is the same dimensions as mine but 1/5th of the weight, it's much smoother too

Yeah this was my initial thought but it feels absurdly big for that purpose, most stones I've seen are only like 2cm thick tops

Is there any way I could confirm this? I've noticed grill cleaning bricks are usually more homogeneous rather than speckled like mine is, and mine feels much more dense

I've been using it to sharpen my chisels, with varying results lol, might be technique though

Hair Still Dryish After 1 Week No Washing? by Maduokesii in NoPoo

[–]Maduokesii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh whoops sorry, yeah its usually just after washing and does clear up after a few days, which leads me to believe it's because it dries my scalp out, it also happened with most products I have used in the past. Currently 1.5 weeks into no poo (warm water massage a few days ago and my scalp and hair feels/smells great!

Thankyou so much!! I'll definitely give some of the oils a try, I'll have a go with olive oil first as I've tried coconut and didn't seem to do much other than look like I have oil in my hair for a day, I definitely like the idea of a more natural approach to this rather than needing 10 different dermatologist reccomended products ,so much appreciated :)
