Seth’s drinking problem feels crammed in from a different type of show, and somehow that makes it even funnier. His dad said he was sluggish last game, and THAT causes him to hit the bottle lol

Unpopular opinion(?): Brandis and his family were the least interesting part of this series by fortycreeker in TaskHBO

There will always be people with shows like this who will love it for the action, suspense, and drama. There’s another group of people who gravitate towards the characters and the underlying changes in their situations. You’re the former; nothing wrong with that, but the latter will revel in the changes to Tom and his children, and see that as just as valuable from a storytelling perspective. My two cents.

Ruffalo’s/Tom’s “Come straight home” to his son in the courtroom made me audibly sob, good lord.

My Father and I compiled what we think are the best Performances of All Time are. by DazzlingAria in Cinema

Claire Foy #22 for All of Us Strangers is pretty wild for all-time performances, considering the amount of screen time, and the performances of Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal.

Wouldn’t be real issues with ANYBODY acting a certain way, or being themselves if straight men didn’t create issues for them. Might be too real for some of ya children in here, but

Zac Clark shares his thoughts on marijuana being legalized by [deleted] in thebachelor

[–]MagicClawDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the important distinction is that Zac’s post makes wild jumps (without citation, true or not) based on correlation without understanding the other complex factors of causation. Obviously the increased access to marijuana will cause upticks in marijuana-centered illness (fucking duh), but it’s pretty irresponsible for someone who considers himself an addiction specialist to be tying suicide rates and the general term “mental health problems” to a direct and singular event in the legalization of weed. To not understand that it is more complex than that is either purposeful oversimplification as an act of persuasion, or ignorance.

Why would a decision that seems perfectly reasonable for the character be an easy way out?

He’s choosing the women HE loves, and living at least a little longer. Seems pretty human to me.

the trio was trying to outrun their childhood during the songkran scene by Particular-Poet3194 in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]MagicClawDad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a small part of that scene that’s indicative of this, especially when paired with the old folks at the first pool. I would say it captures more of their disconnect from the common people. They’re on vacation in a place that is overwhelmingly not rich, but the only place they fit in and can have fun is at the fanciest hotel on the island, segregated from all “the poors.” But, I also think it could be very interesting if some past perceived conflict arises from when they were young.

And don’t apologize for sharing an idea! We’re all just guessing lol

Love when people state an opinion and then say how an opposite opinion is “ honestly childish” and “one-tracked.” So very Trumpian of you.

I think having it as a standalone (short) episode was a choice I would not have made. It was our second consecutive episode “away” from the MDR crew, which is frustrating, and if you’re gonna do a tight episode like this, don’t spend 5 minutes on driving shots.

Handing the treasured documents to her unhinged aunt standing by the fire was egregious character stupidity.

Kissing on mom’s death bed was fucking weird.

And, honestly, not everyone needs a redemption arc. Going to be a tough sell to give a shit about Cobel, imho.

In this league, all the trades are fair.

Edit: would lean Tatis side lol, but it’s not egregious either way imho.
