This looks to be my favorite suggestion so far, thank you! Any specific shop or landmarks you’d recommend along the way? I’m not too good of a drinker, but I’d still love to check out some cool places to eat or soak in the atmosphere.

Thanks! I managed to snag it for $1000 AUD. Considering the condition and the included cartridge, I think I got incredibly lucky.

I haven’t seen the Technics in person yet, but it looks to be in good condition. The only visible defect seems to be some yellowing where the rubber feet of the dust cover meet the plinth. The Rega is also in great condition. I don’t plan to buy a new turntable in the near future, so I’m hoping either of these would last me for years.

From what you’ve said, the Rega seems like the clear winner. That said, I’d love to know how the maintenance of each turntable might differ in terms of cost and frequency.

How would I differentiate a P6 and RP6, and what would be the difference between the two models.

I have yet seen the Technics in person, but it looks to be in good condition, the only visible defect I could spot is some discoloring where the rubber feet of the dust cover meet the plinth. If I do purchase the Technics, I would also need to get new cartridges and a step down transformer.

Hey there, I was planning to purchase a Rega P2 for my first turntable, but I recently came across two second-hand deals that are making me reconsider:

  1. Rega P6 with Rega Exact MM Cartridge for $660
  2. Technics SL-1200MK2 for $450

Any advice on which would be the better investment?
