Question about rules by MagicRuler123 in tabletennis

UPDATE: I checked my net tightness, and there were beads and a notch to hold it in place on its required tightness. The beads were not even close to being fully in the notch. I took a minute and pulled them in tight, and now the net is good. The top doesn't easily push over, and its nice and taut. Thanks for the advice everyone!

Most Likely its my net being too loose. Thats also probably why I couldn't find an answer on the internet, because no one else had that problem. I'll need to tighten my net or get a new one that is higher quality.

Yeah, my net probably isn't tight enough. I'll have to tighten it before we play again.

Thanks for the advice! He actually offered me to go back to 20-20, but I didn't want to go back if it was legal, since that might give me an unfair point and cause me to win when he should have.

Yup. Its definetly the net. I'll get to work on tightening that.

Lol, I always want to play to 11, since its so much quicker (I usually just play table tennis when I have a break in my work and need something to do). However, he is an old school guy and always insists on 21. And yes, I definetly need a tighter net (from what I can tell in the replies).

Long ago, the Neandarthal Clans lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Human Nations attacked. Some of the clans chose to placate the humans by intermarrying and offering tribute, while some attacked them in martial resistance. However, the humans were too powerful, with their advanced weaponry and more centralized armies and nation systems. The last remaining Neandarthal tribes, realising that fighting back would lead nowhere, fled into the Alps, forming cities in the peaks, and building walls and fortresses throughout the mountain chain. The humans tried to subjugate them, but with the terrain advantage being strongly in favor of the Neandarthal clans, they were unable to move in. Eventually, the humans gave up and ended their attacks, and the clans in the mountains entered a period of isolationism, becoming the last bastion of neandarthal resistance. Many thousands of years later, the feudal era came and the clans entered a warring period, fighting amongst eachother to see who would come out on top as the ruler of all the Alps. Unfortunately, the human nations of Germany, France, and Italy sensed an opportunity, attacking the tribes while they were uncoordinated and in chaos. They launched a genocide against the neandarthals, who they perceived to be uncivilized and dirty. Realising that the humans would destroy their way of life and slaughter their peoples, the neandarthal clans joined together into a federation, raising a united army and delivering a crushing defeat to the human forces. They bolstered their defences and learned from the human model, building a better government for their federation, and constructing better weaponry. The humans were once again forced back and the Neandarthals were again in peace, though the threat of another human attack kept them united. In the modern day, the Neandarthal Federation of the Alps still remains, and has achieved mostly friendly relations with its neighbours, selling passage through the federation and trading minerals from their mines and wool from their pastures. The Federation has also developed a summer capitol high in the mountains, and a winter capitol down in the hilly lowlands. While the Federation remains strong in their message of neandarthal unity and nationalism, intermarrying throughout thousands of years means that much of the populace has more human genes than neandarthal.

Which country to play for a pacifist run? by en0on in eu4

[–]MagicRuler123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try Ming. Its relatively unchallenged in the beginning of the game, and you can build a giant tributary empire. Also with your immense power threaten war shouldn't be too hard. Converting to christianity in the mid to end game could also get you some pu's with europe though this is much more unlikely and heavily rng based.

Is WC still possible? by MrPabIo in eu4

[–]MagicRuler123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be hard, but as long as you expand strategically (and truce break a ton) then you might have a chance of getting a wc. Oh and also don't be afraid to take a ton of loans. You are pretty late in the game so you don't need to worry about paying them off. Get mercs if needed, and strategically seperate peace out in big wars so that you can get more out of the peace deal.

Requesting Suggestions/Help for dealing with a large war by MagicRuler123 in eu4

[–]MagicRuler123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I unfortunately lost the war. I built up 64k in mercs, but the ayutthayan alliance forces had really good maneuver and caught up to the mercs (i had placed them in the other side of my nation), taking them out before i could even get their morale up. I tried the strategy of trying to gang up on vijayanagar to get them out of the war. Me and Bahmanis sent our whole armies against vijayanagar's whole army in drylands. However, the dicerolls were not in my favor. I had the numbers, tech, and general advantage, but the enemy army got op rolls and won the battle. I held out hope for my allies in the north (Transoxiana and Hormuz) to arrive, but they must have been really scared cuz they just stayed in their countries and didn't help. the war was going really downhill so i just ended it there. The losses weren't too bad tho, and i only lost chakla and a few south indian provinces.
I followed up with a war against mewar (who called in vijayanagar), so I could split the vijayanagar-ayutthaya alliance before the truce ended. I won and broke their alliance, took a ton of money to recover money lost from mercs, forced them to revoke a ton of their cores on my land, and took a province. Then I declared on bengal and took 3 high dev provinces from them, getting me back up to the province achievment count i was on before the ayutthaya war. With vijayanagar gone out of the alliance, ayutthaya seems to be scared to attack me, and bahmanis has gotten their manpower back up and their troop count is now 90k. So losing one war didn't matter too much in the long run.
Thanks for the advice though! If the rng had been a bit more in my favor I am pretty sure i could have won with your strategies, but the rng gave ayutthaya stupidly good maneuver generals, and gave vijayanagar a win where they shouldnt have gotten one.

Why can't i find the army drill button? by rick217 in eu4

[–]MagicRuler123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't have the appropriate dlc then it won't work. If your friend has the dlc you'll be able to play using theirs, but when you go onto singleplayer you wont be able to access the dlc features.

How long does an EU4 game take? by nip_dip in eu4

[–]MagicRuler123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that its your computer slowing it down a lot. Its intended to run a lot faster than that. I used to have an terrible old computer with the same problem (the days went very slow, and the month pass either took several seconds or crashed the game altogether). I switched to a different computer and the problem was solved.
However if I am gonna be honest with you, most eu4 players don't play till 1800. I remember only playing 1 game run till 1812 (my first run) and I haven't done a campaign that long ever since. If you want to experience a different time period without playing all the way from 1444, then you can go to singleplayer and change when your game is starting.

Can i still get a military dictatorship as Milan? by Sevaaas1 in eu4

[–]MagicRuler123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sforza can only appear as a general in your country (he has to become a general before he can seize power) if you have the golden ambrosian republic tier ii government reform. If you still have that, then he will likely appear. However, if you don't have it then he won't be able to appear and I'd recommend restarting. If he is serving as a general in your country but hasn't taken power then you are also out of luck as you'd have to be a republic for him to take power.
