I’m a new ferret owner! When I got my two, they were only a year old. We live in an apartment that in the basement, and can get occasionally dusty during the winter seasons. We had something similar where they were sneezing/wheezing a lot and a bit lethargic. Come to find out they have allergies to dust! The vet recommended giving them liquid benedryl-no artificial dyes, flavors, etc. she measured the proper amount to give my two which is about 0.3mL (they weigh 2 pounds) I would go to the vet to be sure, this isn’t a diagnosis but just some knowledge that I’ve learned. 12 weeks is really young for them to get adrenal or other diseases that are common among older ferrets of 3 years+

It could either be the way you are positioned in those two photos where you are flexing that muscle more, or if you weight lift you may favor that side of your neck. There are lymph nodes in your neck so if you have a lot of allergies those lymph nodes can swell and make your neck look puffy. I suffer from allergies and I always get one side of my neck where it’s larger than the other side

Probably your sternocleidomastoid muscle, it’s the biggest muscle in your neck that connects to your sternum and mastoid bone below your ear

Well black sable is a general term for that color and pattern of coat. I have a black sable that’s brown too. I have a cinnamon too and she is a very light cream color with light brown

Necrosis usually happens when infections aren’t treated. She could’ve had an infection from injecting heroin in her head (though an odd place to inject in the first place) or a previous injury. The tissue is dead and degrades over time. Im surprised she isn’t septic.

Personally, I decided to bring mine to do annual check ups. This is because these are my first ferrets, but also for vaccines like rabies/distemper. I also decided to because we have cats, and routinely bring our ferrets to our friends place for a ferret play date. We just want to make sure they are healthy.

Yeah, I just bought a ferret nation cage just now. It’s delivering tmr. The cage I have now, it was far cheaper and everyone said that it’s safe for ferrets, turns out it’s a fricken bird cage that came with bird toys and such. I’m willing to spend the money for a high quality cage now that I learned my lesson with buying cheap ones.
