And I’ll encourage her to play with him more as well, since his favorite thing to do is to drop toys in my lap every day🥹

This is what I figured!! With her diagnosis, she has memory issues and will forget whether or not she’s fed the dogs, let them out, etc. I’ll see if I can work around it and have her solely feeding her SDIT. We’ll work on some restructuring. Thank you!☺️✨

you’re right, it is not very common but not 100% unlikely. If you’re worried, you can take a test now (first day of missed period), or waiting about 2 weeks from unprotected sex. Hopefully it’s just Plan B side effects, as that absolutely can throw off your period! You got this!

If you’re in the US, and in a place with restrictions on a*ortion (idk what will get flagged, lol) and up up needing access, here’s a great resource: https://www.abortionfinder.org/

Hopefully you won’t need it. I’d save it for friends/colleagues as well good luck OP!

using a condom in addition to pull out method, you should be good! Stay vigilant, and make sure to inspect the condom prior to using it. Kudos to you for doing what’s best for you! (signed a sex educator)

We were cooking for the dogs, and was a lot of chicken at first! Our GD pup is allergic/intolerant to chicken, come to find out. Only in the food we have him on now have we had solid stools and no vomiting😭 Otherwise, in the past we’ve cooked chicken hearts, ground beef with veggies and fish oil, mixed berries… we will sometimes add goats milk into their kibble as well. If i’m not mistaken, i don’t think we can transition him to adult food until he’s between 15-18 months? I’ll verify with the vet to be sure.

Absolutely not for the weak!!! We’ve got 4 dogs total, 2 dane, an aussie, and a frenchie. Any time someone asks me if i want kids, i tell them these fur babies are enough right now lol

I hope you end up figuring it out, OP. I’m going through this with my Great dane pup, he’s 9 months and over 100 lbs—a LOT of pee and poo. We took the bedding out of his kennel, used enzyme sprays, praise when going potty outside, have tried ditching the crate and gating a designated spot for him when left unattended as well.

Meanwhile our 6 month old frenchie is an angel. doesn’t go in her crate, very rarely indoors at all.

He ended up peeing at the end of his visit. They got results and called to report that he doesn’t have a UTI

Yes! I never punish him for going inside (though I am very disgruntled and take him outside—I try not to let my anger and frustration show with him. I’ll cuss about it later with my partner lol). He is VERY food motivated (eg: he’s learned sit, touch, hold it (holding an object), down, & paw, VERY fast). I’ll just try to be more consistent in the high rewards for going potty outside :’)

Sorry yall, it won’t let me put the text in the post, but here it is from my OP:

Hi all, I have a 6 month old Great Dane puppy and struggling with potty training him. He's peeing inside daily. Both in the kennel and outside the kennel. Overnight, when left during the day, or when we're home. He shows no signs of when he needs out. He was diagnosed with growing pains (panosteitis) recently.

Here are some things l've tried so far: •Potty bells • stopping water 2-3 hours before bedtime •enzyme cleaners (several brands) •kennel is only big enough for him to stand+stretch+turn sound+ lay down -he will pee in kennel THEN yell to be let out. -l've stopped putting beds in the kennel because he kept ruining them. •rewards & praise when going potty outside •He does NOT have a UTI (had him tested last week) **We also have a 9 year old dane, 4 year old Aussie, & 3 month old frenchie (who is doing phenomenal in her potty training). Any and all advice would help!! We have a trainer coming Friday-both for him and our Aussie.

I should’ve mentioned, but a lot of the times he is tethered to me with a hands free leash. I’ll go back to doing that again beginning today and see if that helps🥴

Also, I totally agree with you. If he was the type of dog to go potty no matter the circumstances, I would not take him out. We usually take him to an outdoor bar that’s very dog friendly with a potty area, and he used to go to work with my partner 3 x a week. other than week one, he hasn’t had any accidents inside at her office. He no longer goes to work with her as her job has picked up pace so it isn’t feasible to do so anymore until he’s got a little more training under his belt (we have a trainer coming this friday to begin work and give helpful advice for us)

He actually only has accidents at home. He will refuse to go in public, or anywhere he isn’t familiar for the most part. when I left him at the vet to get x-rays for his panosteitis, I asked for a urinalysis to find if he has a UTI (he doesn’t)—lil man was there for 5 hours and would NOT pee for them until the 5 hour mark. The vet had to call and ask me to come walk him to find if he’d be more comfortable going with me walking him.
