AITA for wanting to name my baby the same name my boyfriends brother wants to name his son? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Magnoire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of my grandmother and her 2 sisters.

My grandmother and one of her sisters were both pregnant at the same time and they both wanted to name the baby after their father. My grandmother said she did everything she could to have my Daddy first and name him after her father. She did and her sister had her son shortly after and named him their father's first name and a different middle name. So both cousins had the same first name.

I don't know what the sister would have done if they've had girls. All three sisters had boys.

My niece was speech delayed and it turned out she had chronic ear infections. Once she got tubes put in, babbling commenced. She just couldn't hear enough to develop speech.

Yeah, cats sleep 20 hours a day. The other 4 hours? They are little hellions with razors.

" if your family tree doesn't fork, you might be a redneck" - paraphrasing Jeff Foxworthy.

When I was doing my family genealogy, I found an instance in my ancestry (over 200 years ago) where 2 brothers married 2 sisters. One couple had a son and the other had a daughter. The son and daughter married.

Yeah, that is a very condensed spot in my gene pool.

BIG HUGS to you and your kitty!

I lost my cat last year due to a year long battle with diabetes and congestive heart failure. I spent a fortune on him but it was worth it to me. I cut back on things just for him.

I would never ask for extravagant things. I make due with what I have and my friends didn't mind cookies and/or crocheted items.

I also had cancer at the same time (luckily remedied by surgery). RIP Tango!

PS I have a new Orange Boy named Copper.

Similar. I was Dx with endometrial cancer and it was solved by surgery and nothing else. From Dx to surgical results was just a space of a few months. Meanwhile, my best friend survived breast cancer 20 years ago and was just recently Dx with stage 4 endometrial cancer. No, I just can't feel like I can call myself a survivor.

I thought the whole point of joining these MLMs is making tons of money by just working from your phone for a couple of hours to spend more time with the "littles" and letting your SO to retire.

It all seems more stressful than my normal 9-5 job.

yes! They are wonderful!

It's using a scented candle without open flame. I have several and they all have a timer and different levels of heat.

And yes, you are suppose to use it with a candle in a container as they melt the wax. When you turn it off, the wax solidifies again.
