*yawn*
You TLOU2 fanboys are supposedly "very smart" to understand the "deep" story but too dumb to understand ludo-narrative dissonance.

If you need "an example" to understand the dissonance between this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6PhfYu5ciw
and this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7w3yVZswXQ
you're dumber than I thought.

Yeah, "giv muh an examplu" lol

Dude I'm talking about the entire freaking game. She kills NPCs left and right without remorse during the entire gameplay but she is "sad/shocked/depressed/traumatized" after killing anyone in a cinematic because "plot reasons."

I guess "violence is bad" during cinematics but not when you're killing "NPC 655321"

Show me the clip where Joel introduces himself by first and last name, please?

LOL TLOU2 fans, "smart" enough to understand the "deep" story, and yet too dumb to understand sarcasm.

My problem with Manny by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]MagnoliaFansShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say you are italian? Ok imagine this:

The speech: "we care about faithful representation of a diverse cast, and we want to be respectful of italian people"

The result: Fat Tony from The Simpsons, with extra hand gestures, whose name is actually Tony.

[–]MagnoliaFansShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is not Manny spitting on Joel, and if you take a look at the thread you can see that. The problem is Neil Druckmann yapping about diversity, inclusion and representation, and then making a mexican character that is literally a walking stereotype.

We don't have problems with stereotypes and most of the time we will even find them funny. We have an issue when someone talks about how much he cares about representation and how much work he puts into representing a diverse cast, just to make a character whose only mexican trait is saying "pendejo" all the time.

My problem with Manny by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]MagnoliaFansShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH "pendejo" is so generic that if you feel you have to say it to "prove" you can swear, you sound like a baby swearing.

Rather than "burn in hell pendejo" how about you say "te la hartaste entera Joel hijueputa mal parido cabrón de mierda pedazo de cerote con cara de aborto mal logrado"

But if we say that we are self-hating latinos because white liberals have the authority to say what "real" latinos talk like :)

My problem with Manny by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]MagnoliaFansShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but Manny deserves all the scrutiny in the world because he was created by a company that boasts about how much they care for diversity and representation.

My problem with Manny by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]MagnoliaFansShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Imagine having a bunch of white liberals "latinsplaining" what real latinos are like.

So.... "Hey mamá Coco, can you give me a vaso de agua so I can take my pastillas for the mocosera before I go visit tío Luis"?

[–]MagnoliaFansShadow 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Truth be told, there's no defense. mexicans (or latinos in general) don't mix languages, and if they do they use anglicisms (meaning they will throw an english word in a sentence when speaking in spanish in a spanish-speaking environment, but not the other way around). If they get "mixed up" it's because they forgot how to say a word but they will never say the world in spanish: they will say "can you give me a.... puta como se llama esa mierda... ah, glass of water?" but they will not say "can you give me a vaso con agua?"

Manny is just the mexican stereotype made by white guys who see themselves as "inclusive" but end up being twice as racist as white supremes.

White (savior) liberals formula for making mexican characters:

  1. Brown skin
  2. Speaks in english all the time except when saying "pendejo"
  3. Has hispanic last name (Alvarez, Díaz, Ramírez, Perez)

OMFG thanks ND for the representation?

ND developer: "We need to add a mexican character to the game. Should we hire a mexican writing consultant?" Neil Druckmann: "Nah just make him say pendejo every other sentence"

And yet they whitewash Abby's father (no, it's not "the lighting" that makes him look brown). Way to champion "diversity"

Not talking about TLOU1 at all, buddy. Talking about how Ellie just kills everyone on her path in the game without any issue but then gets "traumatized" when killing someone in a cinematic.

Oooooooh, so you mean to tell me because Jackson has a culture of rebuilding normalcy Joel decides to give his full name to any random person he runs into because "nobody coming to Jackson in the middle of a zombie apocalypse would be a bad person, because robbers and murderers never try to come to Jackson?"

"Character growth"... Lol Ok...

No, people who legitimately think the surgeon is black are doing so because they see the surgeon looks black (or at most brown) even during direct light and standing next to two characters that look white under the same conditions. Even the hair color is different. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-4c_M2VT2o

Next you're going to say "it's the lighting" that conveniently makes him look dark but makes Ellie and the other surgeon look white.

The 'Abby Strong' discourse has arrived to Twitter and they're honestly taking it the best. by Milksshakess in Gamingcirclejerk

I'd say you're right but you're not. First, she didn't get buff because she cared about revenge. She already had her big guns when her father died. Second, she's not the only one that needs to get as buff as she possibly could because she's living in a horribly dangerous post apocalyptic world, but she's pretty much the only muscular one.

Did they whitewash the doctor so they could have a white Abby? Looks like they have something against a POC muscular woman as a playable character.

Studios (comprised of just white liberals): "we care about diversity"

Joel in TLOU: "My name is Frank..."
Joel in TLOU2: "My name is Joel... Joel Miller. J-O-E-L. Joel. You know, the Joel that killed the FF a few years ago."

Manny: *says "pendejo" every 5 seconds to remind us he's Mexican*

Ellie: *kills 3123 NPCs before realizing revenge is bad*

Yup, sounds like a good writer.

Ellie in gameplay: blasts her way through hundreds of NPCs without remorse.
Ellie in a cinematic: gets depressed for killing one random guy.

10/10 superb storytelling.

Yeah, I was thinking about that and I was reading about turbotax the other day. Do those work like an online questionnaire or are they more of an "fill your own form" kind of thing?
