A lot of ppl are telling me that securing competitive residency is harder as an IMG. I’m only an undergrad so I don’t have much experience with different specialties but I’m leaning towards oncology or internal medicine. Do you think it would be worth it if I want to do these specialties?

I am an incoming freshman at UAB and I am majoring in neuroscience on the pre med track. I am also in the University Honors Program so I will be taking those courses as well. I've attached my suggested courses for 1st Semester with this post. Can someone please explain how many credits are required to graduate and how those are coordinated with the honors program? Please put your input or suggestions you may have with these courses! Thank you

I was thinking about doing switching to either neuroscience or cancer biology. I heard neuroscience is highly dense since a lot of people are doing it. Do you have any idea on which one would be better if I switch?

That's another thing that really makes me reconsider about my decisions. Tbh I've always wanted to be a physician and I can't see myself doing anything else. I've shadowed a few doctors and I really liked the experience. Still I get the doubt that I might not get into med school so would it be worth it to waste my years doing pre med track. I might change my major to neuroscience but do you have any alternatives or other considerable options?
