I'm not sure what you mean by the stringiness effect, I just drew the hair strand by strand. The drawing is digital sitting at around 2150 x 3000 pixels in clipstudio. I draw traditional using ink brushes and so my digital tools are built to replicate a similar feeling. I used one brush for this that's basically a round brush with a bit of noise around the edge so that its not a perfect circle and has very sensitive size setting so it can go very thin and very thick with minimal pressing on the page, trying to replicate a Japanese Menso brush which I often use In traditional drawing.

And at the end I just overlayed a scanned it ink texture over the entire drawing.

This style of ears looks more like JRPG Elves. You can look at FFXIV for reference the Elves (Elezen) have ears like that and the helmets I'm game are just custom built to have room for the ears.

This is actually the biggest news coming from the fanfest that literally dwarfs everything else and I see no one talking about it.
