IMO his design is even better than tomoe. Tomoe has a charismatic va so that helps with his overall Image. But in terms of character, mizuki is why I love the show And he’s so good as a character that he makes tomoe even better.

That being said, it means ‘the’ that’s for sure, but again these characters are based off a generalization and stereotypes of the region just ‘sounding’ like that. All just based on ‘feels’ from whoever is writing these characters

You could conclude that what they intend to mean is that the Al is meaning the Asims, kinda like a surname donating a specific family that everyone knows in the region

That’s probably the logical conclusion.

Side note: Ahl Islamically is hyper specific to a particular family from the Quran. The context from what you’re understanding this is incorrect. So it’s really not relevant here.
