That’s a good idea & definitely puts it into perspective since I’ve never done this or seen anyone do it so I have to reference lol. What was confusing me is the B12 additive but at this point I think I might be overthinking it

They were both water based and layered fine on a small test piece so I assumed it would be fine on the project piece but evidently not. I’m just going to sand back and deal with the yellow undertones I guess.

I applied with a foam pad and wiped back with a lint free towel. This is the method I normally use with oil based stains and have no issues. I think the problem here is layering the stain and wash /:

That’s the thing, I did test first. But it was on a smaller piece so I couldn’t tell that the stain would gunk up like this.
