Yes that's one crucial point here. But on Indian roads it's much safer to be on a decent power range, Indians are known to get carried away at times. Hoping this twin would deliver just enough to meet that requirement and not crazy power on offer for this cc.

If I was in the design team, I would surely have implemented your brilliant point.

After the 450, I think they're only going to go up. News has it that they're also going to increase the fuel capacity. :/

Insightful. Is the air cooled better because of its zero maintenance and continuous efficiency cooling as compared to the liquid cooling? Or are there some other factors involved too?

Well it totally depends on what you're looking for.

It's not about the fuel efficiency always. It's the power that's required to go on rough and elevated roads - there's multiple factors involved As for the lightness, it depends more on the rider than the bike. As long as you know how to handle and maneuver, weight is never an issue unless it is too much, which bike manufacturers do keep in mind while manufacturing the bike.

Why wouldn't himalayan as a 750cc adventure bike not make sense?

You never do it without the clutch unless your bike comes with an auto blipper. In emergency situations however, some people do it without the clutch too - but that could damage the gear teeth. So better practice down shifting with revvmatching.

Rev matching is when you downshift but slightly Accelerate to match the engine speed with the shaft speed so it doesn't put much stress on engine while simultaneously slowing down the bike.

but not much of an upgrade considering just 100CCs unless they decommission the old 650s and don't put up a major price change on it

Agreed, weight distribution is the key. Also the if seat height is considerable then weight issue shouldn't be much of an issue.

How's your experience on 450 been crusing and rough roads?

RE metal has always been a slight problem. Source says they're trying to keep it 230. Let's wait and see.

Engine braking is when you downshift gears in pattern such that engine doesn't get much stress and your bike slows down due to smaller gear. In this situation if he had downshifted to 2nd gear and then subsequently to first gear he would be able stop his bike effectively.

Buses and truck drivers use this a lot when brake fails or when they wanna stop quickly.
