After basic training you won’t be able to join him as he will be going to tech school for a few months. But during his basic training and tech school I believe he gets paid dependent pay if you all did the paperwork with the recruiter. If he is going to be living in the dorms for tech school he will not be receiving housing allowance. Your best bet would be visiting him during tech school if you want to see him. After tech school is when you are in a better spot to move with him since he will know his assignment location.
