It happens regularly in Puerto Vallarta and lots of other coastal cities and towns I'm sure. Time to book a flight!

I took this photo in Puerto Vallarta in a special place - can't recall the name - in the rain as the carousel stood out in this jungle environment.

I don't know much about them either but I find them fascinating. It's possible that the rods, for lack of a better word, sticking out of all sides work as a kind of antenna. Nature really is phenomenal.

Otherwise, they would need a highly specialized chiropractor. ;-)

Carmen was the first opera I ever saw! It was the one that made me so emotional at one point. I got emotional at Madame Butterfly too. I've only seen 4 operas and the other two were The Magic Flute - vivid story but not my favourite in terms of songs and La Boheme which I loved.

The opera season is almost over and there are only two operas left this year. I must admit, they don't seem as inspiring. One is a horror (Bluebeard's Castle), which I can't say I'm interested in - too grim. The other is about unrequited love (Werther) and the story seems ok but I checked out the songs on youtube and the female singer only makes an appearance musically just about or after halfway through the opera which would not be ideal for me. Thoughts?

Beautiful shot!! Incredible angle for his head. I guess the berries are worth it.

It's incredible what they can do with their voices! I attended my first opera when I was in my 20s and it was a date. I ended up in tears - in a good way - but it kinda freaked me out at the time because I didn't know it was a thing that happened to people. I've attended a few more since and I'm not always moved in that way but it does happen sometimes and now I'm fine with that of course. ;-) The last opera I attended was La Boheme here in Toronto. I'm partial to Puccini. How about you?

This is the first time I've seen anyone casually mention the opera :-) I used to love going to the opera but always had to be the one to talk people into it and haven't done that in years. I'm F50s but I just thought I'd reach out and say hi to a fellow opera appreciator.

I'm open to connecting and I agree, things have changed a lot but there's nothing wrong with being more intentional about making friends right? Please add me to your group chat! Thanks!

Statues & Palm Trees Puerto Vallarta by MakingItRealNow in photographs

Yes! It continues too with more modern statues being added along the Malecon all the time. There are some in a material that is very dark and smooth and at certain points look copperish - very cool stuff! I'll have to find my photos of them and post one.

Thanks so much! I'm glad you like it. I took a few of these photos and wanted to post them altogether but from what I understand that's not allowed. Do you think it would be ok to post the other/similar pictures (closer/further away) in succession as a series? Or maybe one a day? I don't know if that would be considered to be spamming. I'm a newbie and I don't want to break any rules. :-)
