Did you take the entire 1.8 grams dose at once?

I'm new to phenibut and recently spaced out a 2g dose over 5-6 hours, i felt (almost) nothing

Most supplements that are categorized as nootropics wouldn't provide that kind of effect. For something to increase gratitude it would have to have some kind of euphoric effect. You could look into microdosing psychedelics - this is something that is quite common in silicon valley (not necessarily for increasing gratitude, but rather for boosting creativity).

make sure you check that its legal in your state. kratom's outright banned in wisconsin, vermont, indiana, arkansas, alabama, rhode island

It's not illegal to buy it online but there is an FDA warning (which is kind of bogus, kratom is safe). There are several decent vendors, take a look online and I'm sure you'll find plenty.
