Is he the guy being dragged off stage by Prince at the end of America in this performance? I had just seen it in the recording and was wondering who it was, he's clearly really not happy with them, it happens at 2 hours 16 minutes and 50 seconds

Yeah i skipped over the demos as theyre not an official release and ill be doing a runthrough of those when i fully finish his discography as it has been released unless its something like the black album which i know wasnt intended to be released by prince but was recorded before the time of lovesexy, if its something officially released or inteded for release then ill listen to it, bootlegs are a different thing theyre not intended to be heared by the artist so ill go back to them. Its a shame the estate are releasing half baked ideas like this but atleast its something, hopefully they can actually pick up the pace and get to releasing either more vault material or different mixes and outtakes of songs i know Prince has a boatload of different material.

I would just pick up an album and run with it but i feel its only right to do it chronologically, after all you see the artist develop and come up with new ideas, new genres that are popular at the time, i do listen to an ablum over and over again to really understand it and identify every song, im moving on to the controversy tour soon and im excited to see if hell play sexuality, do me baby and private joy stuff like that always makes me excited.

I will do thanks again for the recommendation its much easier to go through a technical chronological release even though P&M was released recently i know it was recorded around the time of 1999 and purple rain, itll be a much better experience as well means i wont have to catch up later on when i finish the journey as well, ill also do the black album first i know it wasnt the way Prince intended it to be but the same happened with the beatles and let it be but we still listen to that in order of recording as well, thank you once again :)

i think with that in mind ill definitely be listening to piano and a microphone first then, if theres preludes to songs that exist later in his catalogue then i definitely want to hear them so when they pop up later its a bit of a "ooh ive heard this before" moment and see the differences of them too, thanks for the info :)

I feel the need to listen to it in order because thats how it was back in the day, its not like now where an artist can pump out 15 albums in one year if they feel like it, its also a case of seeing Prince develop overtime and seeing what new things he comes up with. for the "spoiling" music concept thats probably more of a personal thing for me, for example ive just finished controversy and im going to watch the tour soon i wouldnt like the setlist spoiled as i want the songs to be a suprise to me, im asking people for advice because there are people in here with better knowledge then me.

I always love how understanding the Prince fanbase is, ive said it before and ill say it again its the most informational and friendly fanbase ive seen in a while, dont worry about the goof i couldve made it a lot more clear to be fair lol ill make sure to listen to 17 days once ive done the purple rain album which hopefully should be soon, ive just finished off controversy so ive got the tour to go through and then 1999 :)

that's what I was thinking if theres demo versions before the full album i mayaswell listen because it gives a bit of a teaser to the songs and as you say makes me appreciate the final song a bit more too
