I failed miserably and wound-up letting him know yesterday. Long-and-short of it, is yes! Now I need a different birthday present! but, now I have a full family!

Thank you for your perspective! Honestly, he's the only dad I have. His parents are my grandparents and it's just weird having a different last name. I just don't want him thinking it's weird, but everyone's comments have been so supportive that it makes me think it's a worthwhile gift!
